I wish instead of listening to some announcer tell me what I already know I had the option to get just audio from the field.
I've heard it on TV at many other stadiums, including college football. I hate it as well, but then I think about how it's probably aimed at all the kids in attendance and stop caring about it.
My complaint is because no one ever seems to sit down during the game. As an 84 year youngster (and wife) we can't stand that long and can't see over their heads. So we don't go to live games anymore. As far as the announcers. mostly rubbish. We have no trouble following the action. All we need is the status 0f injured players. Otherwise the sound is OFF!!!!
You're crazy. I love, and I mean LOVE that. It's got that classic feel, and is the perfect celebration song.
I've been to a couple of games over the past couple of seasons and I hate this. Most of the time it is so half-hearted. It's like a punishment having to say/hear "...First Down!" after every single first down and hearing "It's a Jets!..." Once in a while it'll be a little energized if the Jets are making moves on a good drive to tie/take the lead, but even then it's really corny. I think we should create our own traditions, instead of being generic. I think we have so much potential too that we're missing out on that relates to Jets, flight, flying, etc., which is why I always loved when Holmes/Braylon/Sanchez did the celebratory Jet. That's unique to us and I think things like that should be utilized more to establish the Jets brand if we're going to be relevant again.
Did the Pats just start playing The Outfield - Your Love during games last year? That is awesome, we need something like that, not gimmicky stuff.
That would be hilarious if the crowd did it. Everybody would be getting smacked by the people next to them. Excellent tv lol
The last games I've gone to were in Jacksonville, and Atlanta, and they do it there too. Every first down.
BUT, this year, you will all be flying off your seats, and pumping your arm to it in unison with the official signaling the first down. You will laugh at yourself when you remember I said this. LOL
Jeez you people need to lighten up....now that the team is improving the chants in the stadium are no good...get the sand out of the vaginas
I've seen the Jets play in 6 different stadiums including MetLife. I remember being surprised that a bunch of different teams around the NFL do it (although not every one). If I remember correctly, it's the teams like Cleveland and Cincy that do that kind of gimmick stuff. The fact that we're lumped in with them says it all about the way things are run. Just be thankful they don't play this after every touchdown like Cincinnati does: v=cyAfokKm1Yg
It's canned and generic - other stadiums are doing the exact same thing. If nothing else, no other stadium had that deafening (back in the day) and unique J-E-T-S chant.
