if you had to choose between mariotta at #6 or beasley/DGB at 12/19 from cleveland which way do you go. i REALLY want mariotta but adding an explosive guy on both sides of the ball would be sick. Especally beasley at 12 i think he is going to be the best pass rusher in this draft
They expect Mariotta to fall to Cleveland now with no trade involved..at least some do. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/mock-drafts/brian-baldinger/245600?campaign=Twitter_cfb_baldinger
I wouldn't touch DGB with a second round pick. You would think people would learn from cases like Josh Gordon, Aaron Hernandez, Johnny Manziel.etc (not at all equating what Hernandez did to Gordon/Manziel, just saying that they all had off-the-field concerns coming out). The wishful thinking that all of these off-the-field issues will magically disappear is asinine.
Besides with Decker and Marshall we have our fill of big WRs. I'm liking Rashad Greene, Phillip Dorsett and Tony Lippett if we're taking a WR in rounds 2-4. _
all this speculation about mariota falling isn't happening, jake locker just retired, titans need a qb , they sent the g.m, the coach, off coordinator and qb coach down to his pro day, most teams don't send all those guys down if they aren't interested, mettenberger aint the answer in Tennessee, titans are taking mariota
If you ask some people here that's the best move for us! I'm not the biggest MM fan, but I'd take MM at 6 100000000000x over before touching Gurley in the first round at all. EDIT: I agree with you about Dorsett. He's my WR target this draft.
If we took a running back at 6 I'd have to seriously reconsider all my good feelings about Mac. If we took a player coming off an ACL tear at 6 I'd have to seriously reconsider all my good feelings about Mac. If we took a running back who is coming off an ACL tear at 6, I would drive down to Florham Park and drop a hot steamer on Mac's desk. _
And it reads to me like someone going for clicks. I get the point is Mariota going to Cleveland but I can't take a mock seriously that has us taking a RB coming off an ACL over a potential franchise QB. I just can't. _
Another receiver, if available, that I would love to have is Devin Smith. Would be a Kenny Stills type player for us.
That's awful, almost if they don't understand how many other things the Jets need. Like a OLB and a interior lineman, or two.
Moss had perhaps the greatest pro-day in the history of football. He was probably a top-3 (I'd argue #1) WR prospect to ever come out of the draft. Despite all of that, he still lasted until the 21st overall pick. Dez Bryant hardly had the "character concerns" that Moss/DGB had. Bryant was suspended because he had an interaction with Deion Sanders. That was a stupid NCAA bylaw violation. Nothing that is really concerning in nature. For every one Randy Moss, there are 100 Josh Gordon's (and even Josh Gordon is being generous, as he at least had a successful year in the NFL).
Signing Brandon Marshall really solidified our receiving group and now allows us to go elsewhere at the top of the draft. I really don't expect to draft a WR until the later rounds. Having said that, it's gonna be interesting if someone like Cooper or White falls to us at 6. I still don't think we'd do that. Either way, the WR class is very deep this year. There will be plenty of talent available in the second and third round. We were apparently pursuing Stevie Johnson. Makes me wonder if we would go after a receiver high
Don't need DGB anymore. We could get a guy like Dorsett, Smith or Perriman in the second. Beasley might not even be there at 12.
I am not going to draft the second coming of Santonio Holmes/Josh Gordon----not with a 2 pick. No Ganja men, no wife- beaters no jerks.
