Is that like on Temple Run when you turn a corner and a spiked log flies at you out of nowhere

You gonna acknowledge the point made or just keep dancin?

#6 in sacks and the secondary just gave us 2 seconds a snap.

I think the Jets' defensive talent level is slightly better. Until proven otherwise, I will assume the Bills have the better defensive coaching staff. The Jets now have a "not bottom 5" starting quarterback, and the Bills don't. I think the Bills defensive will perform a little bit better this year (mostly because of the coaching), but I would not be surprised to see the Jets be statistically better in a category like Points Awarded (mostly because their quarterback will give up pick-6s and short fields all season, and I'm praying our's won't). IMHO, the best statistical category to judge a defense by is Yards Awarded and I think it's likely the Bills will rank higher.

I think Bowles is far better than Rex at this point. The NFL has figured out Rex's defense. Buffalo;s defense will take a big step back under the blowhard.

No WAY the Bills have better defensive coaching. Rex's defense has not been good for FOUR years, it is not only because he had no corners last year. Somebody a few posts said it perfectly, he plays a "break, don't bend" defense, which leads to the illusion of a good defense from a yardage standpoint, but in reality a defense that is bad at 3rd down. red zone, forcing turnovers and points per defensive play. Rex is so unbelievably overrated as a defensive coach.

If I had to bet on it, I would bet that the Bills defense ends up being better.

If the Jets can draft a guy like Fowler or Beasley however, that might change depending on how they turn out.

Now that Rex is with the Bills, it's amazing how many people try to convince themselves Rex is a bad coach on DEFENSE now. We all know he isn't a great HEAD coach, but any smart fan would tell you that the points allowed last year were in large part due to offense not staying on the field, turning the ball over constantly, and average at best ST play. That's not to mention how poor the talent was on defense last year, besides a few DL.

On to the actual question now... I think we'll both be top 3 honestly. I think we are still a great pass rusher away from being better, but it's quite 50/50 imo.

Does it really matter when Brady will pick them both apart and win the division by 3 or more games?

I think our secondary will make our entire D better. I venture to say some of the weakness at FS will also vastly improve by virtue of the better CBs and Bowles schemes. I have this huge hunch that Bowles is more adept at changing the scheme to optimize the player, while Rex was more prone to change the player to fit the scheme.

I think what really stands out about Bowles from what I saw was on the fly game adjustments to counter schemes or personnel changes due to injury. It has been said by the experts that what he did last year with the injuries in D was remarkable.

If our LB speed improves in short passing situations, via the draft at either OLB edge rusher or even inside to supplement Harris, Davis and Barnes we could be formidable.

This year the AFC may very well become the black and blue division defensively. Offensive schemes will have to be very creative to score more than 20 points a game IMHO.

How is Bowles "Far" better then Rex as far as defense. We had no corners and still finished top 6 in Overall Defense .Rex is more creative at calling plays then a lot of other Defensive Coaches. To me Bowles hasn't proved a whole lot yet he has only been a DC for two years so to say he is "far better" then Rex is just ridicolous.Rex won a Superbowl as DC and went to two AFC title games on the road as head coach.I don't think the NFL has figured out Rexs defense I just think the talent got worse each year until this offseason.Bowles has a stacked defense now so we will see just how good he is

I think the Jets will do well agains the Patsies this year because they haven't stolen Bowles signals yet. The Pats will struggle in the first half and the Jets radios will "mysteriously" stop working again to force hand signals. The Pats will have the signals analyzed at halftime and do much better in the 2nd half but still fall short.

Rex will give you numbers but his schemes which he believes shock and surprise opponents can be had and were. Gailey can take advantage of the predictability. I would just like an explanation for those two Jets blowouts by the Bills last season. Esp the 2nd one in Detroit after your city was once again snowed in. The Bills had almost no time to prepare. Players had to be picked up at their homes via snowmobiles. The Jets had the advantage but Rex still got his ass kicked. Give Rex some credit. How did he explain that one to the Pegulas during his interview.

5th, 8th, 11th and 6th - that's where the Jets ranked in Yards Allowed over the last four years. You sound ridiculous when you say we haven't had a good defense over that time. I could have started at defensive back for the Jets last year and somehow we still managed to finish in the Top 10.

if our offense is better than theirs, that would help a great deal! defense can be about equal.
