We don't need much more at wide receiver I'd say we are set. I certainly wouldn't trade a draft pick for one or use our 6th on a wide receiver.
Here's the thing........it appears the Saints have decided to blow everything up and are looking to dump players for draft choices......they already have 2 first rounders and are trying to be major players in this draft. Trading Wilk for Brees isn't going to work I don't think because Wilk is going to get a mega deal very shorty . The Saints want to reset and acquire young players who they can control for the next few years.......this conversation started about Stills. I would guess a 2nd rounder would be good enough for him. The Saints could probably be talked into a 1st and say a 3rd rounder for Brees. He has got maybe 2 good years left........that is a call a highly paid GM has to make
I do believe they may be shopping Brees. They traded Graham, and supposedly have other players on the trading block.
Kenny Stills traded to the Dolphins for LB Dannell Elerbe and a 3rd round pick...good move for the Dolphins, Stills is an up and coming playmaker, will they now cut Mike Wallace ?
A good move by the Dolphins. They have a pretty good receiving corps now with Wallace and Stills on the outside and Landry in the slot.
Solid move by the Fins. Stills is a solid number 2/great number 3. 3rd round pick was fair compensation for him too.
Stills has developed into more than just a deep threat. He ran a lot more possession routes last year, and has good hands.
Oh please. Without Brees this kid isn't a full receiver...he's a guy who runs vertical Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is. I've watched him closely. Brees made him overall better as did the talent around him opening things up. He will struggle to do those same things w tannehill and will want to lean on his natural strengths. Has he improved? Sure. But not enuf to scare me in that offense outside of blowing the top off. I watched a lot of Saints games last year, and tracked Kenny Stills for fantasy purposes. His rookie year, he was basically limited to being a situational deep threat, in the sort of Devery Henderson / Joe Morgan role. But when Cooks went down, Stills was used an every down outside WR (I don't think he played 100% of snaps, but probably close to 70%), and he did a good job. I'm not saying Stills is going to the Pro Bowl, but I think it was a solid move. No matter how much Brees' presence may or may not have inflated his production, I think you would agree he is a significant upgrade over Brian Hartline. Kenny Stills' most common route run in 2014 was a hitch. As a rookie in 2013, Stills mostly ran vertical "go" routes. The Saints asked him to expand his tree last year and he responded with impressive execution. Drew Brees had a 112.0 passer rating when targeting Stills, who caught 74.1 percent of his targets and finished with a 63-931-3 line. Brandin Cooks will return to take away some of Stills' underneath looks, but there's still plenty to like here -- especially with Marques Colston nearing the end of the line. Not surprised a bitter jet fan is thinking badly move . I love it and I hope we cut wallace and save the cap space now that we a much cheaper receiver who takes the top of defenses and much more versatile. I suggest you get nfl sunday ticket because he's hardly the wallace from pitssburg who only runs vertical routes. Far away from the truth.
