I like Shorts, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy. If you play fantasy football, you know what I am talking about.
The Jags and Raiders will take both receivers, they're gone before we pick. MM might be gone too even after his poor performance today, Washington and Tennessee will pounce on him. That leaves OLB for pick 6. Anyone see Owusu's jump on instagram, that was amazing! Now if he can catch then we don't need another WR. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:12450309
Time to get a WR in the draft. Too much age and question at the position to sign a questionable Stevie Johnson. Jets already tkaing too many chances with Revis, Cro, and Marshall. If these guys don't pan out to be at least CLOSE to their old selves, that's ALOT of lost money invested.
Let's not forget about our 4th round pick, Shaq Evans. There's a chance he's something. We also took a WR in the 6th, I believe. We have some young talent that we can potentially develop.
I don't understand how he declined so fast, he was very good in buff, and he's only 28. i'd go for him, more firepower
I don't think Stevie has returned a punt or kick in his career, so there is no value there. No use for him at receiver at this point in his career with the other WRs on the Jets.
They should trade down. The 6 pick is worth 2 mid to late 1st round picks. Jets need to improve depth and 2 1st rounders will help them do that. The jets have no glaring holes anymore. The main thing they need to improve now is the offensive line and maybe a blocking tight end. Their set on the DL, at CB, will shortly be set at safety, are OK at LB. The defense looks pretty solid. Their WR core is now solid, they're pretty solid at RB and TE. They really need to improve their OL - their guard play has not been imressive and they need to start to find some young players they can groom to replace Brick and Mangold within the next few years. Alternatively they could go for a QB, but (i) I don't think there is a rock solid QB to draft at 6 and (ii) let's see how geno fares with someone like chan gailey who actually knows how to groom young QBs before we give up on him. You've really got to give a young QB 3 years to be able to evaluate him. QBs in the first round are pretty much a crapshoot anyway - there are busts galore and the reason is because there's no way to know when you draft them whether they'll ever be able to read NFL defenses quickly and well.
Everyone wants to trade down...honestly if Cooper is there you gotta take him he's the surest thing in the draft and we've never had a player like him
