Sheesh how many receivers do we need?!?! How about adding another offensive lineman instead? We could use another guard and/or a RT.

I'll ask the same question. How does Cecil Shorts prevent that?

It doesn't, but with Kerley, Shaq, Enumwa, we are going to have to get rid of some folks if we want to draft a WR and sign Shorts. It also ties up a lot of money in the WR position that could be used for other needs.

It's not very likely the Jets go WR in the first round after the Marshall trade. I hear they like Dorsett out of Miami.....if they do sign Shorts they probably don't select any WRs......

This is a bad idea. We don't even have a competent qb to throw to him . Spend money at safety or Oline

He doesnt. I'm just saying i'd rather have Cooper in the draft then Shorts in FA. If they want to draft one and sign the other, fine by me. Although I wouldnt see the point.

I dunno bout that.. I've bought two in the last 5 years and they've both worked out great. I own both, I know the repair history, I know what these vehicles can and can't do. I also have no plans to sell either one as both are under 10 years old.

Tell me where I've come up short. With great credit comes great opportunities...

I don't think shorts would be assured a roster spot regardless

His point was the second you drive a car off a lot it depreciates. He's talking financially.

That may be true but it only matters IF you plan to sell the vehicle. Even used cars depreciates. If someone wants a single owner garage kept vehicle, they come see me. If they want a rented mule, they go to the corner car lot.

Picking these guys that are in the twilight of their careers will bite us in the ass down the road unless of course, we take the Steinbrenner route and just keep hiring rentals. Plaxico, Santonio, Marshall. Its time to draft our WRoTF instead of leasing him.

Who was the last successful Wr we drafted? Coles? Moss? Its been so damn long I forget.. Kerley?

I'm not buying a car as an "investment'.. I'm buying a car to get me from point A to point B as quickly, as reliably, as comfortably as possible. I would prefer to be the original owner of that vehicle as well as that way, I know what is wrong and how it was dealt with. I buy new because I have the credit rating that allows it. It wasn't always that way and I have bought used in the past however, given the choice? I'll take new everytime and twice on Sundays.

This is the NFL. So your first sentence is always assumed true

DeAndre Hopkins looked pretty decent with Fitzpatrick ... jus sayin ... Fitz can get the ball to our receivers, it's the TOs that scare me.

Ok.. So we sign/lease a Wr knowing that we plan to release him before his non-guaranteed backloaded money takes effect. All good unless he goes south while still guaranteed money. Now in today's NFL, leasing a Wr is easier than drafting and developing one. At some point, the talent has to be developed and in some cases (Steve Smith), the talent stays with you for a long time.

I would love to see the Jets draft our Gronk, or our Steve Smith, or our Desean Jackson. Just once. We've gotten so bad at it that we drafted Steven Hill and now we're reluctant to do it again.
    I hope I'm wrong..

Anything from the past is a poor exAmple ie Stephen hill. This is an entirely different regime.
