I know 2 mil per for 2 years I was pointing out bargins we will miss by putting 12 mil more into the secondary. My guess is with cro at 8 Gilchrist is gpne
Yeah. Weddle was the better of the two safeties, but Gilchrist was a good player so they played him at SS which I believe is a case of playing out of his natural position. Gilchrist has range though and he's got a ceiling still. I hope we still get this done.
Any chance Cro could play Free Safety? If not, who is going to play there. Pryor played out of position most of last year and really is more of a LB/SS hybrid.
We signed Cro for corner!!! Would you people stop asking if a guy can move to safety. Both Revis and Cro will be our corners. Cro is not moving to safety
No, not imo. A FS needs to be more than just fast and have good coverage skills. He needs to be physical and a great tackler, since he's the last line of defense. Cro doesnt' like to be physical and he's not a good tackler. He might do well from a coverage perspective, but not from the tackling perspective. He also isn't good against shorter, quicker receivers. IMO he would be a disaster as a FS. As several have speculated, unless Milliner surprises in TC, I think Revis is the #1 CB, Cro the #2, and Skrine the slot CB. Milliner and McDougle the primary backups unless the Williams kid impresses.
Bowles plays dime as much as most coaches play nickle so having a reliable 4th CB will be important..hopefully Milliner is that guy.
If we land Marcus Gilchrist, the Jets will have the best secondary in the NFL. Three true starting CBs, and a good SS so Pryor can more to FS. If only Milliner could develop, our defense would be even better than our front seven.
Idk but there's been no gilchrist news since. Maybe his market is frozen. The longer we wait the more the price drops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
