I'd be fine grabbing Petty down the line wherever we have him placed. Sit him behind Fitz and Geno to work on his reads and footwork for two years as a developmental pick. If he shows enough improvement throw him in the mix if we dont have our guy yet. If we have our guy and it's not him, he might turn out to be good trade bait or a capable backup. Or he doesn't turn out and we try elsewhere. This is assuming Mariota isn't available.
Depth nothing, we need to find a left tackle to replace Brick next year. An upgrade at right tackle in 2016 wouldn't hurt either.
Anyone who thought our O-Line has been really good the past two years hasn't been watching the games.
Believing his experience won't translate to the NFL because of the offensive system he played in doesn't equate to him sucking.
WR is as much a need at this point as defensive line. Whether we still have these same receivers in two years is irrelevant.
Im sorry I dont agree with this at all. How many great young receivers did we watch light it up last season and we didnt have any of them. We're gonna depend on Decker and Marshall who I can almost guarantee neither of them plays a full season? Hell no I want Amari Cooper if he's there
i wouldn't say huge need, but we have the opportunity this year to stock the shelves on the offensive side with out needing the picks to contribute right away. Marshall and decker should not dissuade us from taking cooperbor white if the duck is off the board
This is nonsense. Draft a guy to develop? Sure. Huge need? Lmao stop it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
QB is a HUGE need. WR isnt a HUGE need. still worth drafting if mariotta is gone? sure if the BPA is a WR.
Shaq Evans and Chris Owusu could be decent contributors for this team. As much as I want Cooper - receiver is no longer a HUGE need as of right now.
This reminds me of Barney in The Simpsons trying to make everyone think they need to buy more beer: "After this case, and the other case, there's only one case left." After Marshall is gone, and Decker is gone, receiver will be a HUGE need. Now? Not so much...
How many great receivers did we see in the Super Bowl? Championship Games? Division rounds? The team with the best receiving corp in the playoffs was probably the Broncos; they couldn't do shit against a mediocre defense because they had no QB. The teams with the worst receiving corps in the playoffs made the Super Bowl. Great receivers are irrelevant without a good QB, and good QBs make having great receivers irrelevant. These great receivers are a luxury, but the rules get receivers open in the league and having a good QB will find those open good receivers.
