sorry, thats not even close Vick is the better player. does not matter, plan day trips on Sunday this year. the blueprint is, to put the players in place.... if you think I am wrong, tell me Geno or Fitz, wins you a championship? t
As I said Vick is currently a UFA, But he is better than Fitzprick or Smith. And the Jests are still the roster he is on. http://www.newyorkjets.com/team/roster/Michael-Vick/e237df00-2292-4fc4-8193-8c1ac3af7e3f ****Not Hobbes memo.
Took a look at his Baylor/TexTech game. Petty is a big, strong armed kid that has reasonably good accuracy. I didn't see him actually drop back a lot though. Mostly shotgun but I guess that's the college game these days. If Mariota is gone, Petty certainly is an option if the Jets want their QbOTF in 2015.
That peice of shit Vick wasn't even prepared when we needed him he even admitted it.He looked washed up and it seemed like he didnt even want to play. Was he once a great player?Yes is he still ?no.I see retirement coming either this year or next
If the Jets miss on Mariota, they target Petty and draft him early if need be. You need to keep trying until you find your guy.
Vinny was terrible when he was in TB. Once he left that hell hole, he suddenly became a better QB, putting up better numbers and overall cutting down on his INT's. Yes he had 25 picks in 2000, but you can put part of that blame on Jets management once again letting a talented young player walk (Keyshawn). Vinny had to throw to short receivers and his running backs and as a result had to force a lot of passes.
To be clear I am not a huge Fitz fan. But no one here criticzing him can point to a scenario where the Jets could have realisticlly done better. No better FA Qb's available. Philly traded Foles, but for Bradford, and vice versa on the Rams. Chicago will be keeping Cutler despite that contract. Houston is keeping Mallet, and while it is not yet clear whether Tampa keeps Glennon, it was also not clear he was a better option than Fitz. When someone makes the most of a bad set of options, you have to acknowledge the circumstances. Otherwise you just sound whiney.
Concur. I'm not wowed by Fitz but it's realistically the best we could have done and gives us a professional QB to man the position while we're hopefully grooming one of the two rookie QBs. _
There are two important things about QB this year: 1. Fitz is not Geno, all he has to do is move the chains and not turn the ball over (something Geno can't seem to do). 2. Club Rex has moved North to Buffalo, if our coaches have our QBs disciplined, focused, and prepared we won't have some of the nonsense we have tolerated in the past. How could our QB play possibly be any worse than last year?
Agree. I would add one more: I think the new offensive plan would be much more creative and not be so dummy down that even a blind man could plan against. Keeping defenses honest will automatically improve our offensive performance, add all the extra talent at WR, a far better secondary that will keep the game close and improvement is automatic.
Well, I'd have to concede if they let me play Qb for the Jets, it would likely be worse, but I'd give it a shot.
Great point. Having Fitz in there should help the running game at least somewhat, too. I just hope Fitz does not revert to a more out of balance TD to Int ratio.
Thats the thing... I took a look at the game logs from a few games over the last few seasons, and I think Fitz (like most QB's) gets into trouble when his team is behind and he needs to force passes to bring them back. He doesnt have that in him. He is not a natural talent like Luck or Manning in that regard. But he does get the ball down field (alot of 20-40 yard passes) and he does have pocket awareness and can run a sophisticated offense. All of this is an improvement over 2014 Geno.
