I'm in the Miami area for a few days and listened to some local sports radio. Some Fins fans think that with Suh opponents can't double team Wake and they will also be better against the run. And they specifically talked about Suh kicking Brady's ass. So with 3 teams in the Bills, Fins and us with good defenses their dream could come true.
Suh is a great player... but the Phins have dropped so many good players to fit him in financially, they could wind up being weak in other areas.

I'm honestly not worried about him at all. I think with a few more upgrades at the offensive line position, we can stop him. The feeling I'm getting down here in Miami is more or fans worrying about Revis again. Miami is struggling big time with receivers and now they have to worry about Revis. A pass rusher can be held in check. Revis completely eliminates a receiver lol
If you're struggling bigtime with WR's Revis doesn't scare you. You're just going to ignore the crappy receiver he is on and throw to somebody else. The time Revis worries you is when you only have one receiver worth throwing too and your QB is dependent on being able to throw to that guy to move the chains and score. That's when Revis is a major PITA for the offense, assuming he can cover the guy which 95% of the time he can.
Two schools of thought. It's difficult to say who's better but from my perspective a CB can only do so much and take out 1 player. A great D-lineman can take out two offensive players in one shot and allow you to keep someone free. (I understand a CB can help the rest of the defense if he's solid on his own)... the thing about Suh that's scary is you can block him with 2 pro bowl linemen - and he'll win that battle sometimes. I think Suh is one of the best defensive players I've ever seen. But value is everything and he really is going to hamstring the rest of the team with salary if not on the field itself.
My comment was in relation to the most recent reports about Mike Wallace. Apparently he is restructuring his deal and wants to stay in Miami. Therefore, Revis would eliminate Wallace.
This is true. It's a hard thing to argue though. Yes, a guy like Suh can wreck havoc the entire game, but Revis can completely eliminate an offense's main target. By doing so, the QB is required to check his other reads and either panic or throw to a second or third option. Makes life very difficult for a QB. But you are right, this contract destroys Miami's future.

That's what I meant by 95% of the time. Revis apparently doesn't cover Mike Wallace all that well due to a speed differential and he never covered Stevie Johnson particularly well due to, uh, Johnson-itis I guess.
Suh can eliminate an offense's main target as well - by slamming the QB on his ass. repeatedly. and then stepping on him. If money wasn't an issue I'd rather have Suh any day of the week, but of course it is an issue. Both Suh and Revis are expensive but both are great players worth the money. The fish got a beast, no downplaying it
Only happens in cold climate. He has a problem with not feeling his feet when it gets cold and accidentally stepping on someone
Seriously though, the league needs a handful of Suh's to keep it entertaining. If Roger the Dodger insists on turning the NFL into the WWE, then there should be a few "heels". Who can forget Charles Martin's take down of Jim McMahon (oh the unintentional irony of using WWE and McMahon)
The one thing I remember from last year, if anything sticks out.... was our D-backs being forced to cover for ungodly amounts of time. They all really stepped up. I can't say anything bad about Revis, he made the pass rush less important. But I also remember the Giants absolutely destroying TB12 like they had knives on the D line. It's like choosing between a hand grenade and a pistol.
I love watching the guy play, I'd bet anything he's a peach in person too. I know that type. They just flip on a switch on the field that turns them into a psycho. I love it though. The guy is a destructive force.
