    No shit. Inconsistency is what has crippled this franchise for a long time now. If geno just has two god awful seasons without those flashes of hope he's not even in the picture now. Same thing happened with sanchez. We saw some hope from time to time, but it never materialized.

    Do I think geno can become a good qb one day . . . I have no idea. But, I know we need another qb who can right the ship if geno fails that way we don't waste our few good years with marshall and decker.

    So, you KNOW Smith WILL have a career arc just like Fitz? And not like Ryan Leaf?

    Bottom line is the Jets cannot go into the season with only Smith and Simms.

    Fitzpatrick isn't accurate. I'd even say that Smith is much more accurate a passer than Fitz. But Fitz isn't going to consistently make the mistakes Smith does and he is smart about seeing the field, getting the ball out quick, etc. Decent competition to have

    My point is that Geno's completition percentage can and could go up just as it did for Fitz. And I agree Geno and Fitz is a decent QB competition.
