If it's true, it's going to be at a premium. Brees automatically makes the Jets Offense amazing though.
Really only one intriguing pass rusher left from the outside, imho, Worilds. Based off what McPhee is getting from the Bears he'll probably get around 8-9M per year. I preferred McPhee but Worilds would be a nice catch.
Cro needs to sign. Would feel much better about him being our number 2 then anyone else. Skrine is too small for the outside, put that fucker in the slot and we have a seriously legit group of CB's. At this point Id prefer Cro and a stop gap at safety instead of Gilchrist or another top guy.
They still need to lock up Wilkerson. I hope the Revis deal convinces him to just sign on the dotted line. The potential of that front 7 with a legit secondary is off the charts.
If we end up w a Fitzpatrick blend draft and free agency to accomplish. If we swing Brees address in draft or what's left of it. Although I still have faith in aboushi Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Skrine in my eyes should be the guy taking over for Kyle Wilson. If Cro comes, where does that leave Milliner if he comes back healthy (big IF).
If all this happens I'll tell Ya what. It leaves us w an epic secondary Although bring in Cro and flip the 6 milliner and snacks for Brees and let's go all the fuck in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All I know is we got the best corner in the league and a top 10 WR in the league and still have $30 mil in cap room!! Let's go Mac!! Well done!! Man if we somehow land Mariota.. My god...
It's the one player/quarterback we all unanimously want. We haven't had a good quarterback since Pennington, maybe Sanchez '09 &'10. The offensive line needs help still. People like to blame Geno for everything, but the Oline "protection" has been awful.
Lets not forget Williams either. The guy came off the street and was the best DB on the team last year. Bowles is literally in la la land right now.
I said in a previous post that if Cro , or any other CB, comes here it leaves Milliner very expendable. This regime has no ties to him so its possible to me that he could become trade bait. Or maybe he's just buried on the depth chart learning behind 2 vets. I still like Milliner's potential but the guy just cannot stay healthy. Crazy to say but even after 2 above average signings but CB is still an issue for us.
The OLine has been bad. BUT, Geno just doesn't come off as "the guy" for me. I honestly would not be surprised if the Jets go OL early in the draft.
Jets are probably pretty close to being done now. they have about 18 million left on this years cap, some more spending to come, but when you figure they're trying to extend MO, that they have to set aside about 5-6M for the rookies, and you'd like to have 5-6 M in cap space for in season moves then the Jets are probably pretty much done at this point...overthecaps numbers are pretty close.
Have to believe Carpenter will be an upgrade at guard. The jailbreaks up the middle were pretty noticeable last season. Seems like the oline has flirted with mediocre to bad since '11. Rex like his defenders and Oline just kind of took a back seat. Regardless, It's pretty exciting to see what we have accomplished so far this off season. As much as I bitched about brining in Revis, our defense will be elite again (and a lot of that will be because of him, #24, #96, #91, #52 ... It's a very exciting group already) If we can add some depth to the Oline and find a QB that can manage the game, or if Gailey can manage (to live) with Geno... playoffs .. ???
This defense on paper is "elite" category. It's a mean squad; it will be nice to watch. Whoever the QB is just needs to manage some semblance of an attack; whether on the ground or in the air. Just keep the chains moving and get points in the redone ... turn 3's into 7's whenever and wherever possible.
