Three things. 1) Revis is actually WORTH that money. 2.) It reaffirms fan interest in the team 3.) The move sticks it in and breaks it off for the Pats Good move!
the more I look at the contract the more I like it: 2015: $16,000,000 (full guaranteed) 2016: $17,000,000 (fully guaranteed) 2017: $15,000,000 (6 mil guaranteed) 2018: $11,000,000 2019: $11,000,000 This contract gives management lots of leverage as his contract moves along. Players can improve and regress very, very quickly in the NFL so it's hard to project a player far into the future; but barring injury I'm pretty confident that Revis will be very good CB the next 2 years. Year 3 we can get out from under his contract with some dead money if he really has flopped. If Revis is still playing at a high level at 33, which is possible given that he's Darrelle Revis, Years 4 and 5 could be a good deal and won't involve any further commitment to Revis
There are three people either saying they heard the rumor, or simply retweeting it from what you posted: Mike Loyko @NEPD_Loyko New England Patriots and NFL Draft Analyst. Head Scout and Editor at NEPatriotsDraft. Jeff Howe @jeffphowe New England Patriots beat reporter for the Boston Herald. Andy Hart @JumboHart Asst. Editor of Patriots Football Weekly/Patriots.com, co-host of PFW in Progress and Dunkin Donuts Patriots Pre-Game Social online radio shows
I didn't see anything on ProFootballTalk's twitter about this. Pretty sure everyone would have reported that. The Kaepernick trade rumor spread like wildfire so this would have been an inferno.
You are so stupid. I You're such a dickhead. I already posted my feelings and offered congrats to the real Jets fans. You realize you're an embarrassment to the good fans on here?
Bringing in Cro would be smart at this point. Milliner will start the season on the PUP list and in all honesty may never reach the field due to his conditioning / injury history. We have to treat mcdougle as if we drafted him this year, complete unknown. We will not be bringing back Wilson so we would need a 3rd quality corner to run Bowles blitzing scheme. Cro fits that bill perfectly.
Actually wouldn't it be great for Milliner to learn under Revis for the next two years so that he might be ready to replace him when the time comes
