I am a Clemson alum. Haven't missed a game in 5 years. Vic Beasley is someone I hope and pray our coaches really consider at 6. Best player i've ever seen at Clemson. Has always had the productivity 13-15 sacks a year. His knock was always his size. But comes into combine and reps 225 35x and is just as bi as von miller was. If you don't know who he is take 2 minutes and look him up now (stats video etc). He is a HOME RUN.

anyone else want him at 6? besides the usual cooper/mariotta debate..

I don't think I'd take him over Fowler.

Fowler and Gregory are superior football players imo , with that said vic beasley is a more gifted athlete.

He's my top choice at #6.

A gamechanger on defense... what a concept..

Depends on who goes obviously. Doubt he makes it past top 10-12.

There is legitimately no argument here. Pound for pound the strongest player at combine...fastest, best vertical (explosion), and had best stats in college. He is not talked about as much as guys like gregory, ray, fowler, etc. This guy is so good. He was unblockable in college and was double teamed every game.

I also have a lot of history with Clemson and I have family that works at the school, so I have seen every game for a long time now.

With that said, I really don't like Beasley as an NFL prospect. He is a great athlete, but very suspect against the run. He spent his entire career blowing past mediocre ACC offensive lines and doesn't have much of a skill set besides his pure speed. He's undersized. I'm sorry, I just don't see it, especially with Mariota possibly on the board.

    Go tigers..

I get it he went against sub par LT. BUT..I mean it's not like guys from these bad schools dont go pro..esp in ACC. IE CUSE and BC always produce good lineman. Is he a liability vs the run...sure. But you cant sit here and tell me Randy Gregory will hold up better in the run or shane ray.

Fowler is the only BIG guy....and I see more Coples in him than a pure edge rusher.

He's not being drafted to stop the run.

Dupree can be an option if we trade back with Philly.

In terms of pass rusher, Beasley and Fowler are my two favorites. He seemed a little small but he bulked up and used it greatly by bench pressing like a beast and running a great 40. I like him, not sure at #6 but I do like his game as a pass rusher.

Doesnt seem like a 3 down player. I understand its a passing league, but he can be exposed by a strong opposing rushing attack.

I am telling you, he was unstoppable at Clemson (unlike a clown like Gholston who had 6 sacks one year). He will be 255 after one off-season here. He is all muscle, pure speed rusher. Will be brought in to rush the damn passer!

Could be a nice compliment to Coples actually who is good at setting the edge

I actually think Vic Beasley will be gone by the time the Jets draft. I think he's better than every other EDGE rusher, including Fowler and Ray (though he's only slightly better than those two.)

Some will disagree, but Beasley will be an absolute beast in the NFL in my opinion.

    I agree...that's what I am saying. People have nothing to knock..6 ft 3 .246 lbs. Runs 4.5 and bench presses 225 35 x

2014 being basically tripled...12 sacks and 21.5 tfl...
    2013 being doubled...23 tfl and 13 sacks
2012 less than 300 snaps and still 8 sacks.

One thing is for sure this year, Mac and crew will certainly have a lot of options at #6 with players like Mariota, Cooper, White, Fowler, Beasley, etc. Depending on how they all grade out this could actually be the year for a trade down and still get a top player on the board.

As for Beasley the dude has phenomenal physical attributes and the performance to go with it. Everything about his combine stats was impressive. One thing I always look for in the rush OLB candidate is the 3 cone time, which seems to be a decent discriminator of potential success in the NFL. Beasley did this in 6.91, which compares favorably to guys like Clay Mathews, Demarcus Ware, Justin Houston, Cliff Avril, and Rob Ninkovich. Someone that large, that strong, and that fast is able to change direction pretty damn well. He's a beast.

He is the weak side rush OLB we need whereas Fowler is more of the strong side OLB to chip the TE and stop the run (as well as provide pressure). I really like Fowler but I'm thinking someone like Beasley (over Ray) would be a better fit for the Jets.

I agree, that's what I said Fowler is more like Coples as a SS OLB, chip TE hold edge etc.

And for the guy above^ hmm explain yourself. Beasley has no bad argument against him.
