Who would ever trash signing somebody that ran for 141 yards last year?

I don't care if you call me dumb. Bilal Powell is JAG. If that excites you, whatever.

All this does is take potential carries away when you are trying to recruit a FA RB who actually has talent (Spiller, Vereen) to come here.

Considering the draft is full of rbs it's not a bad move

People can say what they want. Powell is in fact a jag.

If we are still in the spiller vereen marketing great we should be. If not I'm not furious but think we could do better.

The fact the draft is loaded all the more reason not to re-sign him. Think about it.

Your avatar tag really says it all doesn't it...

And, for those of you who do not see the value in this...I REALLY have to question your football acumen. There are few positions on an NFL roster that depth is so blatantly key but RB is probably right below QB and Center as one of those positions...ESPECIALLY considering the injury rate of a running back. Statements to the contrary are point in case of why you folks aren't personnel people in the NFL. lol!!

I read this signing takes us out of the Spiller market. Hopefully that means we are going all in on getting a QB and going with a pass first offense.

With the Jets re-signing Powell, as first reported by @MMehtaNYDN, essentially takes Jets out of CJ Spiller market.

A source confirms Jets expected to re-sign Bilal Powell, as @MMehtaNYDN noted. Was their primary RB target. No interest in Spiller. #nyj

yeah and it is a joke, an absolute joke.

the idea behind FA is to get better, to improve the talent on your roster, not to keep recycling the same old scrubs.

You bring back your own guys only when it makes sense to.

Disagree...the real "unknown" about RB's in the NFL is pass protection...of which, arguably, Powell is the best RB in that respect on the team.

I like Bilal, glad he stays a Jet.

Still need a more important RB

Oh, and the resigning of Powell does not diminish the need to go get C.J. Spiller... We still need that #2 home-run hitter change of pace back.

All in on qb? What qb?

And I have just officially ticked my first negative on maccagnan. All for Powell but this is his first mistake in not pursuing spiller or vereen.

He can't be that good. Geno's ass is on the ground 50 times a year.

It's all the more reason not to overspend on a guy like Spiller whose actual career production to date grades out at about a 3rd to 4th round grade at best
