This is such BS. Kelly wants to play a style of offense that Foles is not suited for. Mariota is seen by Kelly as playing the style he wants to install. Does that mean Foles is a bad Qb? No. Does that mean if the Jets want a pocket passer, that Foles is a bad fit for them because Kelly wants Mariota instead? No. As far as last season and Foles were concerned, he had lost his best receiver in the off season, and early on there were problems with Philly's OL. I am not saying I have a preference if Mariota falls to 6 on either keeping him or doing this trade with Philly to get Foles. But some of the misinformation here negative on Foles is silly and misleading.
Agreed on drafting the best guy available, even if it's a WR. My hope (and fear) is what the Jets do to compliment this trade at QB.
I thought it was a good trade to start with, although I know he has been a bit of a head case in the past. Then last night I watched the "football Life" episode that NFL Network did on him recently and, I gotta tell you, after watching that it is hard to see why you would not want to pull for the guy. Seems like he has his shit firmly together now, and if that's so, man did we get a freaking deal !
He has unquestionable talent. Even though Revis used to do a mental job on him. As for last season which for the Bears was a disaster and as with the Jets got both their HC and GM fired. Marshall was most famous for calling out his teammates and after several games was heard screaming and yelling at people. Not sure if the Bears who wanted Marshall out wouldn't have cut him anyways. This will be his 4th team. We've taken chances on flakes before like Tone and CJ. It usually doesn't work out.
Kimberly Jones @KimJonesSports 6m6 minutes ago NYJ: W/Brandon Marshall having passed physical & trade official at 4pm
ESPN saying Jets still haven't decided to release Harvin despite other reports. Can you imagine Marshall and Decker outside with Harvin in the slot and a QB who could actually throw the ball?
I think that could have a lot to do with the Revis situation. If they know Revis will become available and know they will offer the most money for him than they won't pay Harvin his bonus because they will be spending big money elsewhere. If for some reason Revis between now and 4pm reupps with NE then they might as well keep Harvin because they have tons of money and not too many places to spend it. just a thought- might be entirely false
You'd hope this is the case. Unless they already know that no matter what, they want that 4th. Another possibly entirely false thought... maybe they want the 4th for a trade they know is on the horizon.
ESPN says that's not true, the Jets are still deciding. Oh, and they have until the 19th anyway. The only reason they would do it today woul.d be to help him out.
They are going to release Harvin on 3/18 or 3/19...That is when the deadline is. Why release him now? When everyone is prepping for free agency. Wait another 10 days then cut him loose
