Oh, yeah. It does a lot. Of course, that has to accompany some QB pick in the draft [like Mariota - or what have you.] Fitzpatrick is not the long term answer either way. And Fitzpatrick is career 60+% passer, with good enough of TD/INT ratio - which Geno is anything but. He is sub-60% career passer [in WCO], with near abysmal TD/INT ratio, less than 1:1. And I have to believe you that Geno will be better than that career backup material, right? Yeah. Right. By now it should be crystal clear - GeNO is NOT the long term answer. If the plan is to let GeNO take the beating - that's fine by me too actually. I don't care who takes the beating this year, or who sucks more. That isn't even what I am looking at. As long as Jets draft a QB this spring, and protect him for a year, I'm fine either way. THAT SAID, GeNO will never be the half the QB that the bearded tool of a backup QB material is, who happens to be Fitzpatrick. Get that drilled to your head.
ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan report free agent Brian Hoyer will indeed sign with the Texans. Adam Caplan ✔ @caplannfl Follow It now can be said from me and @adamschefter: QB Brian Hoyer will sign with the #Texans. Expected to happen with next 24 hours.
Yeah. just another target we couldn't sign..move on to the second, third or 55th choice..whatever it is. We better hold on to Harvin so some of that money stays spent.
if you wanted hoyer and his career 56% completion percentage and 19 career td's, then you are absolutely insane. might as well trot geno out there. hoyer is nothing more than a game manager on his best days and barely fit to start in these league on the rest of his days.
Can we just get a QB who is not a turnover machine like Geno, I know what is out the now ( Sucks ) So can we find a QB that sucks a little less then Geno until next year. If the is Fitz then so be it.
has there been any news on Matt Moore? haven't really heard him linked anywhere.. if we can't get Moore, i'd go Fitz. either could be halfway decent bridge guy, who could eventually assume the role of vet backup to a guy we draft (hopefully)..
we are waiting for Fitz to be released. barring something unexpected he will be signed and Geno will beat him out.
If things fall right, I wouldn't mind Foles starting with Fitz backing up, or Fitz starting while MM takes a year and learns from the bench. I'm ready to tap out on Geno.
dunno that Geno would beat him in a competition. if he did tho, means he's playing more competent, which wouldn't be the worst thing..
the team is not ready to give up on Geno. we will get a vet to compete w/ him. I'd prefer Foles who would beat him out but I think we get Fitz and Geno beats him out.
scenario i'm hoping for is Moore or Fitz starting this year, while Mariota learns. Mariota probably a long shot to be on this team tho.. our QB situation does suck..
Hoyer to Houston not done yet Posted by Mike Florio on March 10, 2015, 2:02 PM EDT Getty Images On both Monday and Tuesday, reports have emerged that quarterback Brian Hoyer will sign with the Texans. It’s not done yet — and not just because it can’t be done until after 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
Come on, just friggen sign the guy already so we can bring Fitz on board and at least have the confidence that we have someone on our roster who can beat out Geno and be the starter.
Career sub-60% completion ratio, with less than 1:1 TD/INT ratio, in West coast offense, all offensive systems out there, says otherwise. Hell, SANCHEZ eclipsed 60% completion mark, be it during preseason, for the first time in his entire career in WCO. And he's supposed to beat a career 60+% passer, who posted better than 1:1 TD/INT ratio? I am not saying Fitz is the next god waiting to be picked up. I am just saying, GeNO is such an utter trash that can't be salvaged.
Fitz has played w/ talented offenses, Geno hasn't. this will be the first time he has multiple weapons in the pass game.
Fitz has excelled on teams with talent deficiency, Geno was drafted because of limited success on teams with a lot of talent
