It's possible, but I'm not too sure some team is going to splash the cash AND drop a 2nd rounder for Snacks....Guess we'll find out
Clueless huh? I am not the one who is willing to take a fifth round pick for one of our starters at OLB who has also started for us at DE: "Coples will never fit in a 3-4 defense, should be traded ASAP but for some reason they are holding onto him. At this point I'd take a 5th..." Not much value in return for first round talent.
There is a lot of available cap space out there this season. The Jets have a lot of it as well but there's more than enough for somebody to decide to give Snacks a 5 year $40M contract that they can get out of after a couple of years and force the Jets to match it or take the pick. Once you let a player hit free agency you have lost control of him. At that point you are at the mercy of the market.
Yea, you are clueless. And you shouldn't expect first round value for a player that provides fifth round results
6.5 amazing sacks in a defense that sends jailbreak blitzes all day long. 60 year old Calvin Pace had 10 sacks 2 years ago from the strong side in the same defense. But hey by your logic we shouldn't even be tendering Snacks at all since he went undrafted So clueless Weird that you are trying to make an argument about Coples in a thread about Snacks when you could easily be proving me wrong by explaining how Mo and Sheldon look so good only because of Snacks
I am not a huge fan of Coples but you are not in a good position to criticize others when you want to trade away a decent player for practically nothing. The sad thing is that aside from an aging Babin he is the best pass rusher we have on our roster.
that… makes no sense at all. no. I don't see that happening. its not smart on the pats end to go out of their way to overpay a NT way more than what they think he's worth to force their division rivals to either pony up or leave them with a bad deal and without a 2nd rounder. its a pointless exercise, either they go too low to make a difference on the jets or too high that its detrimental to THEM. see, WE'RE the team with cap space, Revis or no they don't have the space to pull something like that off. the fear is unfounded.
Yeah. That's plain stupid. I'd like to see if he could lose some weight. He obviously got the height; he just needs to lose about 20 lbs to work effectively as an OLB.
He already lost 20 pounds, dropped from 290 to 270 last off-season. Still not very effective. If he loses 20 more he will look like a shooting guard Anyway you guys have fun discussing Coples in the Snacks thread cuz clueless up there needed to hijack it to cover the idea that he thinks Snacks is the reason Mo and Sheldon are so good
Didn't know he already lost 20. 270 is still pretty heavy for OLBs though. 265 would be about as high as it can go when it comes to OLBs.
Another poster had suggested that Snacks looked better than he is because he played with Mo and Richardson. Using the same logic I suggested that Snacks is every bit as good as he looks and that they also benefit (and look better) playing with a quality DT like him, You chose to take my post out of context and insult me so I took a look at your recent posts and found the incredibly stupid one you posted about Coples to show you which one of us was confused.
Did you watch last season? Coples was used more in WR jamming roles and in coverage than actual pass-rushing. He had one of the highest pass-rush efficiency of 3-4 OLBs IIRC.
