But our defense could potentially be comparable to those elite D's if we add Revis. Think about it...the destructive Sons of Anarchy up front, Coples and Davis continuing to develop into star LB's with Coples rushing the passer well like he has done recently, Pryor emerging in year 2 at safety, and Milliner coming back strong from injury and continuing his ascent. Or McDougle emerging. Or Marcus Williams continuing to play well.

Or D has a ton of potential, and with Revis that just might be the master stroke that puts it over the top! :) Cmon, dream a little man! All great things start with a dream, "I have a dream.....that some day, the Jets will win a super bowl!"

But my point is, looking at it objectively, it's not just a dream but a realistic possibility.

They would have taken him at 9 as they would not have needed Milliner

not interested in a 1 year rental - I like to support the team and get invested in the players - I want guys who are going to be with the team for a decent number of years so I can think "yeah, he is one of us" - I just cannot get behind bringing players in for a season or two - which is why I couldn't get behind Favre as he was to my mind never a Jet and it would be the same in this situation with Revis unless they manage to agree a 3 yr deal or something then (depending on how crazy the numbers are) I could get into it a bit more.

Will have to go a little above that. Peterson averages 14.1 and Sherman averages 14. Revis will want to be the top one.

I would have to say unlikely unless he is continuing to play to a high level when he is well into his 80s or 90s

According to Tomlinson, Revis wants to come back to NY.

True. But with Revis, they wouldn't have taken Milliner, so they might have still taken Richardson. And Richardson/Revis is a lot better than Richardson/Milliner..

He ranted on about a lebron james type return to the jets. Lol he has to be taken at face value as he hates the patriots.

Obviously he wouldn't take any discount to play for the Jets. He never has. But he wanted to come back last year. We spurned him.

He knows he'd be much more marketable here over anywhere else in the NFL. His arrogant self may also look at himself as a "savior", similar to LeBron.

    Who the hell knows.

Why is he arrogant because he wants to be paid....everyone else gets paid their worth but if he wants to he's selfish

Maybe arrogant was the wrong word. I actually think it was.

I still have memories of his holdout. He wanted to be the highest paid defensive-back in NFL history. Didn't matter that we were paying him as the second highest paid back in history.

Again, arrogant was the wrong word. More like egotistical.

I know Rex would love it. But they already have a few big ticket players on the D and just grossly overpaid McCoy, who is starting down the hill...

Branding purposes? Another poster mentioned LeBron, maybe Revis will go down that route now that he has won a superbowl.
