Wow cannot believe he's been in the league 8 years already.... shit I'm getting old. Very surprising but maybe his recover isn't going well and he knows he'll never be the same.

Damn, if we could have gotten Willis here I would be all for it. I love Patrick Willis.

    Would suck if he retires...

Wow, him and Justin Smith are both retiring this off-season. 49ers are going to the NFC West basement. Wow, I wonder which implode was worse the Jets after 2010 or the 49ers after losing to the Seahawks in the NFCCG?

Hard to imagine this team was one play away from winning the Super Bowl just 2 years ago.

and at the time I thought they'd be a force for years. Talented young QB just scratching the surface, good young coach, great pieces on defense and OL

seems like just yesterday i took a chance on drafting the rookie LB out of Ole Miss in my fantasy football league.
he went on to be the best fantasy LB in league that year, as well as in real life. was excellent right out of the gate.

type of player i thought would be heading to the Hall....
with a little health and longevity, i think he would have got there.

    it's a good question.
think he had 6 healthy and dominant seasons. is that enough? it probably is for me, as outside of Ray Lewis, he may have been best 3-4LB i can remember (probably forgetting someone, but you get my drift)..

Nope, he was on his way, but since he's retiring early - I highly doubt it.

Chris Borland is going to beast in this league though - freaking wish we drafted this guy.

it's an interesting topic regarding Willis to the hall..
very dominant at his position, but it is a short career, especially having missed most of last season.

agreed on Borland. was able to grab him in FF last season too, so really watched him closely.
tackle machine, plays low, and also makes a lot of big plays to boot. he's the real deal.

Willis 5 yrs as a first team all pro. I think you look at the linebackers in the hall and the common factor is longevity. Willis simply hasn't played long enough. Borland, still can't believe the Jets didn't even look at the guy - he's going to be a star.

At the same time - his chick:

I'm making sure nothing is wrong with me post NFL! If I am Willis, I am making sure I can plow that every night for the rest of my life lol.

LOL, if he wants to walk away - by all means I will take over! No one likes a quitter, but in this case we can make an exception.
