that's not true at all, he could have signed elsewhere and been the starter like Tennessee which was talking to him this weekend. I think Kelly plans on starting Mark unless he can get Mariota which will not be easy.
Disagree on both counts. I don't think he will be named starter without having to earn it. Just because Tennessee is talking to him doesn't mean he's walking into the starting role.
its a good move for kelly. it's a placeholder deal for the next QB. If they pull off a Mariota & flip Foles then they got Sanchez there to start while he develops, if they take a year to find a guy and stick with Foles/Sanchez for a year then they can. Either way they have decent depth at the most important position and it's not breaking the bank. its a better move for Sanchez though as he can develop in philly and play in that offense some more. Going to Tennessee or Jax or Buffalo for the desire to be the clear cut no.1 in those offenses would've been disastrous for him and he'd be looking at the Matt Leinart career progression & an early retirement
If they're giving Sanchez a two-year deal (granted, only $5.5M guaranteed), then they probably really want Mariota and want to start Sanchez first to ease MM in.
If he went to ten he would have been the starter, maybe they don't make a proclamation but he would have been going there to start. There were other places he could have gone to start too but he chose to stay w/ Chip which is probably wise.
So you think he chose to be backup in Philly (if he is indeed the backup) over being a starter in Tennessee?
I think Chip made it clear to him he could start in Philly and Philly w/ Chip is a much more attractive option than Tennessee. I am not sure who else he spoke to as well.
Mark Sanchez will never play in an NFL game again, will never wear an NFL jersey again, will never start an NFL game again, has seen his last penny from the NFL, will be playing in the CFL next year, will be flipping burgers at McDonalds next year. _
Matthews and they also have the young TE Ertz. they still have some talent. they need to improve that Defense more than anything.
I will always post honest, informed opinions. Mark happened to be a hot button topic on here last year- will he be again? that's up to you guys.
He sucks and it's getting stale talking about him. I wonder if Geno Smith will get one of these types of threads one day.
If Geno ever plays as well as Mark and helps us reach 2 title games he may get that treatment some day. if you don't like it don't talk about it. if no one talks about it then it goes away.
Nonsense (as usual). The defense got us to the title game twice and Sanchez in all his glory almost prebented that both times with his horrible (32nd in the league) play.
