Suh is getting 114 mil from what I seen 60 mil guaranteed over the first 3 years according to Chris Mortensen That is about 9 mil more guaranteed than Watt and 14 mil more in total Nobody was going to match or outbid that
They have no running backs, their best receiver is Jarvis Landry, they have no depth on defense, and they have no money and are about to lose out on Clay because of that. They are fucked. All for Suh. I would have signed a free agent receiver, extended Clay, resigned Odrick, and signed a guy like Spiller. Draft a receiver, draft another running back, draft an offensive lineman.
According to the Philly reporters, Foles is likely the "odd man out" with the Eagles. IDK where to post this.
Getting to the point where they will have to grossly overpay for a guy like Iupati who isn't all that great
Every team is gonna have to overpay the first days of free agency. That's the nature of it all. You will rarely see a team get a bargain on a guy in the first three or four days. Once the dust settles, then the more cap friendly deals start happening. Suh got huge money. Cobb got big money. McCourty got big money. All the corners are getting big money. McCoy got big money. Etc...
I didn't say overpay I said grossly overpay as in give him a contract he has no hope of living up to ever He's really a crappy pass blocker and the Jets will be bidding against the Raiders which means they'd probably pay north of 10mil a year and a whole bunch of guaranteed numbers if they got him
A lot of great players off the market already,Getting a little nervous I hope this isn't a Idzik 2 scenario ......tomoorow better be great
I said this as soon as Maxwell signed. It seems we were all in on Revis from the beginning. Reports said that Woody wanted him back and that there was internal discussion with Mac about getting him. Maxwell signs elsewhere, as does Flowers, McCourty, and Jackson. Just proved to me that the number one priority is Revis.
It's the Asomugha race all over again. Jets go all in on a player only to be passed on and have to fall back on Cromartie
the thing that bothers me is if we don't land him we are stuck with Cro and a question mark in Millner....I just don't want to see us drastically overpay Revis
It seems like the FO has certain targets. While the open period has yet to begin, it does appear that the Jets will be seeking secondary help in the draft. (With the 37th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select Marcus Peters, cornerback, Washington.)
Revis is not going to sign with the Jets. He is trolling the Jets and the fans because he is a diva scorned. He knows this market and our press. He knows if there is a "chance" and the Jets fail on that chance, that the media will turn on them and the fans will go on suicide watch. Perception is reality for Jets fans and Revis knows it and is leveraging it. Move on.
