Reports out there that the 49ers are shopping Colin Kaepernick. Bears and Eagles interested so far.

He will probably command a 3rd or 2nd rounder.

What do you think? I personally am a fan of Kaepernick. I think he'd be worth any 3rd rounder the Jets could pick up. If the asking price is a 2nd rounder, I would be less interested but still consider it.

    Let Chipper have him.

Take MM. He'll be better...I say

Niners take a $10 million cap hit this season if they deal him, from what I read. It makes no sense.

Also, while there's a chance he develops, there's an even better chance that he simply is who he is - which is better than what we have, but not good enough to legitimately build around.

That would be BAD. The Jets wouldn't be able to stockpile their multiple picks in a blockbuster trade. You better hope the eagles don't trade for him.

I would love to have Kaep, he's miles better than what we have. And how can anyone say he's not good enough to build around? He took his team to the super bowl a couple years ago.....

I'd give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder in a HEARTBEAT. And people think using this pick on a developmental QB is a better idea? please

Lol, I better hope? Yeah right. There's no way I want Kaepernick, first of all. But even more, I want MM. I don't care about supposed stock piles of picks. I need a QB.
I'm supposed to beat Chip to Kaepernick? No Thanks. Fuck Chip. Chip ain't gettin' my 6th pick either.
MM's got it all over that poser Kaepernick anyway....

I know Jets fans like to be picky about their Qbs for some reason (since we don't have one), but I would give away our 1st rounder (6th overall pick) for Kap. If given the choice right now, I would do it.

49ers and their young owners are making the worst mistakes at the moment. Trading away Kap and going into full rebuild mode after the past 4 years will be the icing on the cake. If the Jets can get us Kap, it would be a dream come true; especially if he could be had for a 3rd rounder.

I was a big fan coming out of the draft. Watching him play some 49er games here and there, ESPECIALLY beating GB twice in the playoffs just made me so jealous that we didn't have him. (Not somebody like him..have exactly him) If he is available, for only a 2nd round pick, do it no questions asked! I'll try to not get my hopes up too much. I have no idea why SF would do this though.

The contract is hefty, but I would absolutely trade a 2nd for him. I wonder if some sort of three-way-type trade could be worked out along the lines of:

Jets get: Kaepernick, #20 from Eagles
    49ers get: Foles, Jets 2015 3rd, Eagles 2016 1st
    Eagles get: Jets #6 (Mariota)

I wish three-way trades happened in the NFL like the NBA.

By the way, his contract his incredibly team-friendly. Kap makes a lot of money annually but his team can basically cut him any year going forward without taking much of a cap hit. Very incentive-laden.

I live in the Bay Area and many of our friends who are die-hard Niners fans are VERY disenchanted with his play and development.

I would take the chance if the price is right, but for me he's too much of a developmental risk to sacrifice pick(s), time, and cap space to (although his contract is team friendly, which makes it not as bad as it could be). I really think there's a very good chance he is what he is at this point.

Kap's contract is actually very team friendly overall. Wouldn't cost much to cut him.

People are always quick to say 'hell no!" but do not have a reasonable plan to get someone better. If Jets can land an upgrade at QB they should jump on it.

Kap would be a better bet than Eeyore Cutler and all the other FA's available at QB.

Or how about we just pick Mariota and the Niners and Eagles can swap QB's? Eagles are interested in Kaep.
