To me, the corners played better toward the end of the year, after Ryan stopped playing musical chairs with them and playing zero coverage every important play. Playing Man, IMO, should not be the every down CB coverage. Mix is up; make the offense have to guess. But, yeah, I'm cautiously hopeful that Milliner can contribute to a much stronger secondary this year. And, yeah, the OG position needs to be upgraded significantly.
I'm very glad we didn't overpay for Byron Maxwell. Two years from now he will be remembered as a huge FA-bust signing; till then OBJ, Dez Bryant and DeSean Jackson will show him twice a year, why he isn't worth that much money. I don't need any splash moves. Give me Chris Culliver and Sterling Moore at CB. With Stefen Wisniewski (as OG) and and a new contract for Mo this would go down as one of the best offseasons ever in my books...
Now we'll see how much of an offensive genuis he really is Nothing is stopping him from getting mariota st this point either
I think this is probably the closest forecast as to where the Jets might be going this year I've seeing yet.
I wanted Maxwell over everybody but yeah I agree its an insane contract to give a guy who was the 4th best player in his previous teams secondary. To now have to be "the guy" is a tall order. Plus like you said the WR's in that division are a huge step up from guys like Floyd and Crabtree.
don't mean to sound like a downer but it really feels like we're not getting any of the big names. I expected a pretty big offseason with all that cap to play with. Marshall trade was cool but other than that...
yeah, we were just BOUND to get disappointed by free agency, cash or no things are never as rosy and easy to pull of as they seem. A retort to every free agency checklist can be retorted by the phrase "easier said than done". over half the guys we were sure we could have if we just splashed some cash are off the market before we even got a chance to try.
Getting a lot of hate today, but I see the points of all the upset people here. I know fa hasn't started, but guys have been committing to teams all weekend, and lots of big names are off the market. So it is a little disappointing we haven't gotten a single person to commit.
Ask Miami how winning in March works out. You guys are freaking out over nothing. Is it nice to sign a big time FA? Sure it is but most likely it doesn't equal winning in the regular season.
