The term wife beater is commonly used for laying hands on female significant other; they need not be married. It's semantics. That said, he's had a police "incident" with his current wife as well. Maybe it's all a coincidence or your just a dumb fuck.

Again, research would do wonders. Maybe even watch his E60 special if you aren't a fan of reading.

This trade is looking better and better. Cobb off market Eagles making a push to keep maclin. Great swoop by jets the way things are shaping up.

    Yup.

    Great great move.

If Marshall hit free agency, we would have been in a bidding war and spending a fortune for any of these guys. We got Marshall for a 5th round pick and at $7 million a year. That's a steal!

Yes the Texans would have been going really hard at b marsh. Things are shaping up badly for Houston in this department.

Big Mac I fully endorse your first major move. Thumbs up.

I've read plenty on the topic of Marshall and seen several features on him including but not limited to the E60 special. Like I said all the incidents of domestic violence he's been associated with could just be a series of unfortunate circumstances or you could just be an idiot.

Or they may not have been incidents of domestic violence since the charges were dropped immediately and the one time they weren't its because he was stabbed?

lets just call him a wife beater instead.

Seriously? With all due respect, if you cannot remember seeing Marshall run with the ball after the catch, you cannot remember seeing Marshall play at all. While he may not be as dynamic a runner after the catch as he used to be, his combination of strength and short area agility/cutting ability make him a formidable threat after the catch. I've watched countless plays over the years where his sudden change of direction after the catch has left linebackers, safeties and CBs either frozen, falling or tackling air as he's juked them out of their shoes and gained extra yardage. For a period of time, he was one of the NFL's best WRs in yards after the catch. He's not what he was but he still has good speed, runs great routes, has great hands and, with his superior catching area, is a savior for QBs with less than consistent accuracy.

There is no physical reason for it not to. It's a procedural thing.

The McCoy trade could be considered more of a question mark since kiko is coming off a torn acl.

I think I have only real;ly seen him play against Revis. And he did not look thrilled to be out there. I can;t honestly say I have seen him play other games.

In four games against the Jets while Marshall played with Miami for the 2010 - 2011 seasons his stats were as follows:
10 catches for 166 yds and 1 TD - 16.6 yds per catch
2 catches for 16 yds and 1 TD - 8.0 yds per catch
6 catches for 109 yds and 0 TD - 18.17 yds per catch
5 catches for 50 Yds and 0 TD - 10 yds per catch

Number 1 wideouts relegated to the Island during the Revis era were shut down more often than not so under those circumstances, his games against us don't seem so terribly bad.

    NFL records and milestones
    • Tied with Wes Welker and Andre Johnson for most seasons with 100+ receptions (5)
    • Most catches in an NFL game (21).
    • Third-most catches in an NFL game (18).
    • Most receptions spanning five games in NFL history (55).
    • Only player in NFL history to have at least 10 receptions in four out of five games (now tied with Calvin Johnson).
    • First player since 1960 to record eight career games of at least 10 receptions in his first four seasons.
    • One of only five players in NFL history to catch at least 100 passes in three straight seasons.
    • Ninth player in NFL history to have at least 100 catches in back-to-back seasons (2007 and 2008).
    • Caught 102 passes in 2007 (second-career NFL season), becoming only the third second-year player in NFL history to have at least 100 receptions in a season.

I can't understand why anyone at all would dislike this move. Marshall had an off year because he injured his ankle in game one and never recovered. The ONLY potential downside is his age, but we aren't talking about a running back here. His personality issues are well-documented, as is how hard he's worked to overcome them and even contribute to society.

He's a 100-catch machine, scores lots of TDs, isn't afraid to go over the middle and has sneaky speed. A fifth round pick and only $7.5M....are you kidding me? The same guys who want to draft a receiver at 6, the same guys who bitch that we haven't had a solid #1 at receiver in years....they have a problem with this move?

    Cmon man. Settle down.

Nooooooo, talented guy but this game is about more than just talent. I would be very disappointed if we acquired Cutler.

Cutler sucks, let the Bears keep him and his albatross contract, I can't understand people sometimes, he is the posterchild for unfulfilled expectations

i havent read the last 10 pages because this thread is all over the place with many different topics.

that said, this game is all about risk vs. reward. NOBODY knows who will pan out in the draft or free agency or anywhere. guys get injured, guys stop caring, guys stop juicing, guys dont like their situation, teams make guys better or worse.

there is no sure thing. what i can say is that this is the type of move that you have to make, its low risk with high potential of reward.

we dont know if he will come in and be a media darling or if he will come in and have mental health issues. i dont know that but i have only hung out with him a few times.... oh wait no i havent ive never met the fucking guy and have NO IDEA how he functions or what he does. and neither do any of the rest of us. and thats all were really talking about here for 30 something pages. we know he is a top notch receiver, hes proven that.

and we are risking a 5th round draft pick and a contract with little guaranteed to find out if he is still that guy. you cant fucking argue with that. and there is no reason that if the jets come up on the 6 and the best player available is a wr that they shouldnt draft him. thats how you do it.
