This seems to be a hot debate in some of these threads. What would you be willing to give to sign Revis or would you tell him to pound sand.
Oh look another revis thread. And yes. To revis. I'd give him 3 years 13 per guaranteed money first two years give or take. Contracts have too many nuances to just give a figure. Never react to the contract total react to signing bonus and guArantees Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Already 15 mill or less looks popular, a lot of people feel very strongly on this issue of hating on Revis and seem to think their opinions are widely shared which I don't believe they are hence this poll.
$15 mil for Revis and I consider handing in my fan card. Would be horribly shortsighted. The fact that we have acquired a legit #1 WR without having to eat into cap space (assuming harvin is cut) leaves me a little more open to bringing Revis back but even $14 mil is a bad move and it's gonna be more than that.
jackson and maxwell are gone, we probably let them go to focus on revis. and for that, we gotta do whatever it takes to steal him from New England. get revis, mccourtney, cro, and a new guard and call it a pretty good offseason
Pats have a $12.5 million option on Revis I think...If they dont pick him on that, it may makes sense for us to get Revis on a guaranteed deal this time...But Revis we all know loves alot of money
This is the stance everyone takes but then we end up with nobody. We can't rebuild forever need to move somewhere. Some fans are in a perpetual state of mental rebuild. We just have to ignore those folks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
$15 million in a heartbeat. We acquired Brandon Freakin' Marshall for a FIFTH round pick. We have basically solved our receiver problems. We locked up David Harris, a very good linebacker. All we need now is a corner or two, safety, and an offensive lineman. Revis would completely eliminate our need at corner. We have the money. Overpay and beat out New England. Bring him back home
Let's remember a few things: 1) He's 30 in June. Can he sustain his level of play until the Jets become playoff contenders or Super Bowl contenders? 2) If we don't get him, the Patriots will. It might be nice to screw them over by taking a player they clearly benefited from, but it also may be nice to boost his price by engaging in a bidding war and ultimately "losing" out to the Pats, forcing them to spend more than they should. That might be the bigger "fuck you" move, honestly, for both Revis and the Pats. 3) We have other options at CB, but we also have a lot of money to spend. This one can go either way. I'd offer him a deal averaging $13-14 million, but I wouldn't guarantee him past 2 years. Ultimately he can help this team but not at the price he will probably want.
Since the day he signed with The Pats, I've been in the NO to Mevis no matter what camp. I know I haven't been alone either. It is very telling that I'm actually as of this week coming around to the idea. Also, the fact that we have yet to have a SINGLE vote for No period is very crazy.
I never thought the jets would go after him, but it looks like they will make a strong push..amazing player I'm just not looking fwd to the sickening number it's gonna cost
