Btw make no mistake the Eagles just signed their new aso I never particularly was overwhelmed by maxwell. I believe he's benefitted greatly from the team that was around him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Darrelle is a money genius, I hate that the market is drying up so fast because he's going to make us pay to the moon and back knowing we have no other options. And if we refuse, he can probably just "settle" for $12 mil from our arch rival who just won a Super Bowl. Whatever, I'd rather overpay.
I have to agree. And I have no problem having netted milliner and Sheldon only to get Revis back. I'd much rather pay for a known elite talent than the cb of the hour most of which bust out compared to their contracts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In the end it might be the only good thing Idzik did outside of the ivory trade Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The only thing with Revis is that if we do sign him, don't expect him to be the Revis from 2009-2010. I'd easily pay 15 mil to get the 09-10 version of Revis, but I don't know if I would today. Would rather sign Cro and Skrine.
You wouldn't pay to have Revis from last year? You're nuts. He was awesome last season when he finally settled in
Gag. Choke. Puke. Reasonable? QB money for a 30 year old CB???? You have got to be f#*&ing kidding me. Sign a mid level CB and move on. Please. There are many many other positions on the field besides CB. No CB is worth $15 mill, ever ever.
He's still a very good to great corner, but do you really think he played at the level he played back in 2009-2010?
That's not the point. He was the best corner in the NFL last year according to his pff grades. He is a top 3 corner in this league. That in itself justifies the price tag. If a guy like Maxwell gets $10+ million, you better belive Revis, arguably the best corner in the league, deserves near $15 million.
There's still Culliver, House, and the ex-Eagles CB that was supposed to visit over the weekend. If I'm the Jets I'm targeting Culliver and either House or the ex-Eagle and getting deals done, as well as trying to lock up McCourty.
I totally agree. I hope they tell Mevis to take a flying leap and sign Culliver and either Cary Williams or Davon House.
Maxwell got overpaid. Flowers got overpaid. Kareem Jackson got a nice deal. Can't be mad at any of that. We still have Skrine, Cro, Culliver, Williams, House and hopefully McCourty to add to the backfield. Dream scenario is $9 mil on McCourty and around $5 mil each on Cro and Skrine.
I disagree. I think Revis knows he getting to that age he can't act like that. I think Revis will be looking for long term deal.
He's impossible for any front office.. Good for him,I'm read he's made 83 mill to this point.. Honoring contracts he would have made half.. For a long term deal he's gonna want suh numbers.. The miami deal for suh hurts but probably cripples new England's chance to resign revis
With Milliner and McDougle coming back we could use a dominant FS like McCourty who supports both DBs more than a dominant DB like Revis who only suffocates his guy. Don't get me wrong, if Macc can get Revis for a fair price, then he can look elsewhere for a less talented, cheaper FS. However I'd prefer two solid DBs with a lights out FS playing over the top. Strength everywhere with no glaring weaknesses. Through in Cromartie as #2/3 and a mentor and we're all set.
Plus if you look at his past he always wanted to be highest paid CB not D player. I don't think Suh will have any inpact on what he wants. Suh young and Revis is smart business man as you just said by him making double.
