So it looks like he's going to the Eagles... @JaysonBraddock Follow Byron Maxwell deal is done. Guarantee came in higher after more discussion. Byron Maxwell will become an Eagle Tuesday w/ $25 mil guaranteed So does that mean we go all in for Revis no matter what? It's looking more like a Revis and Cromartie reunion. We need at least one of them.
No Maxwell, no Jackson. The pool is dry before free agency even begins. I'd go all in on Revis, otherwise the same thing as last year is gonna happen.
Well that sucks, K Jackson is also gone, he resigned with the Texans. It might be Milliner and Cromartie. I just don't see the jets paying what Revis will be asking for, especially coming off a SB win.
Why is Maxwell considered such a hot commodity? Playing with Sherman, Chancellor, and especially Earl Thomas is gonna make him look good. I thin Cro had a better year than him last year. Plenty of CB's still available (Tramon Williams, Cromartie, Flowers, Culliver) plus it looks like plenty of pass rushers. Time to bring in Hughes!
I dont get why Philly is such a hot spot for free agents. Every year they seem to have a pretty strong hold on the upper tier guys. Supposedly the favorites to land McCourty too. THAT is the guy we should break the bank for.
I dont mean just Maxwell though. Eagles have always had a strong hold on free agency going back to their "dream team" offseason of 2011. Even when they havent had a shit ton of cap space available they've been able to fill needs without hassle it seems.
At the very least we can have a productive free agency by picking up a good guard, an OLB, a FS, and then hopefully extending Wilkerson. Hopefully we can get Cromartie for cheap and try to draft some more CBs (which I don't like doing, but we might have to at this point.) I'd go all in for McCourty right about now.
All of this leads me to believe we are gonna make a huge offer to Revis. Revis is deciding between us or New England right now, according to the most recent reports. Something tells me we have a big offer ready for him
Fine by me. I have big questions about whether he's actually worth 10M/yr especially with Richard Sherman on the other side and Earl Thomas over the top. I'd rather they sign Cromartie and maybe Cary Williams and then draft someone.
What is the obession with Cro... he's going to command 7+ million, and there are several better options on the market such as Davon House and Buster Skrine. He's a thirty one year old CB with poor technique and hip issues.
