They got him. Obviously not happy to see him go to division rival, we need to answer with our own strong moves in FA. AFC East has been damn active so far
Suh to the Fins is a clear indication that they still don't understand why signing big name free agents to huge contracts is break-even at best. I'm really glad we have Mangold though. Suh is very hard to handle and he's a mean SOB and the Jets will be able to handle him and they'll also punish him if he's mean.
Now I can safely say this division willbe hell for brady. Bills arguably the best D line in the league, Jets another very good d line in the NFL, and now ours which I always thought was above average with running defense (unitil mid season) and good at getting after the QB because of wake and a good young draft pick in vernon. Now with Suh, wake will no longer get double teamed and whoever plays next to him wheter it's starks, odrick,or mitchel will now play better along with less attention to vernon as well. Stay safe miami residents because there's a Suh-Nami and Earth-Wake heading you way R.I.P Brady
As a Bills fan I am glad the Dolphins are making this move. They have so many holes on that defense, and on that team, and instead of using the space they have to fill all those holes, they will use almost everything they have to pay 1 player and leave gaping holes everywhere else. Probably the best scenario for the other 3 AFCE teams. Good job Miami.
brady finds the way to win. Fins are always tough out. playing fins/jets help pats to be great. i know the fans think it's 'afc least', but who plays pats the toughest? jets & fins. and add bills to the mix.
Because DT wasn't arguably our biggest need? Our rushing defense collapsed terribly mid season and you can ask any pats fan who played towards the end of the season how terrible our interior pressure and run defense was. And we still got the draft.
Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 2m2 minutes ago If Steve Ross gives Suh a $20M signing or roster bonus in year one the cap hit could be as little as $4-5M in 1st yr. If true, we still have cap space around 5-6 m left actually.
Your rushing defense was bad because you have some of the worst linebackers in the league. Instead of improving that area of need, you are replacing Odrick (already a good player) with a greater player. You're not improving the LB corps, not to mention your secondary is losing starters as well. Who's replacing them? It is still early in the offseason, so there are still moves to be made, but how will the dolphins fill those needs with all their money tied up in Suh? You should have kept Odrick and signed some linebackers. Not to mention now that your hands are tied, the Bills will probably offer Clay a contract you can't match. Not a guarantee, but just my opinion. We'll see what happens.
Couldn't agree more. In fact, Clay is already working out a deal with Buffalo, last I read. This move was one of the dumbest moves I've seen Miami make
We overpaid for a flashy player. He is great and will make the players around him better though. We will see how motivated he is after the big contract. Idt it would be wise for the bills to overpay Clay.
Odrick is solid at run blocked but garbage at getting to the QB, which starters are we losing in the secondary? Finnigan? Dude has been done and can easily be replaced in the draft, and we can cut ellerbe for money money. We need to LBs (assuming we cut ellerbe)and a CB. Misi isn't that bad either but unfortunately he's injury proned. If he's healthy it's not that big of need but we do need a LB bad and I expect us to draft one.
So your justification for this signing and huge deal is that he will make the players around him better? You guys had the money to sign an offensive lineman and a receiver and resign Odrick. Instead, you put all your money into a defensive lineman. Crazy and so stupid
Hey man I agree with you. I wish we would stop trying to win free agency every year. I'm just saying that he will make the lbs and cbs look better
