From Josina Anderson: Source on Cary Williams' #Jets visit: "Cary was expecting good and what he saw out there was great. He called right after that night and said 'wow.'" He felt really good hearing plans about where they are headed. Todd (Bowles) is amazing. He's player's coach. Cary was pleasantly overwhelmed." That's what I like to hear.
My top free agent choice is Devin McCourty. Beyond that, I want Sam Bradford if he becomes available.
I don't think he's coming back. But it's not an insane idea. The QB FA class stinks and we need one. No-one can argue he is the worst out there. In fact if his history had been with another team, I think there would be a much stronger push. It is telling though Rex went with Cassel.
We do need a QB, and it's true most of them have baggage, or are not very good. My hope is that they grab a decent veteran like Matt Moore. Have him "compete" with Geno for the starter's job. Let Moore be our QB this year, draft a QB next year, and let him sit, until his time comes.
Cromartie will cost a lot... Let's not kid ourselves. Between what we paid Harris, what Kareem Jackson just made and the overall inflation given salary cap, we are probably looking at 6.5-8.5mm
Guy can't hit the broad side of a barn from ten yards away but he would at least be competition. I'd rather the Texans sign him then we swoop in and grab Mallett. Would probably come cheaper too. Actually, if Hoyer goes to the Texans I think you can lock up Fitzpatrick being a Jet.
Say what you will about Geno but there is still some upside potential there. There is none with Sanchez so why bother? Plus the baggage, no way in hell he can be brought back here. Saying otherwise is just trolling.
Who exactly was Hoyer throwing to last year? I'm not saying he's the guy, but I think he could be a stop-gap for a year or 2 until we get a QB. Mallet sounds good as well, I wonder if the Texans want to keep him. No to Fitzpatrick.
Doesn't matter who Hoyer was throwing to, he's just not a good thrower. I mean maybe Marshall can go grab some badly thrown balls but... If you're gonna have Hoyer in here as a stopgap, you might as well have Fitzpatrick. He knows the offense and Gailey found a way to get that guy one of the worst contracts in recent history.
the best thing that ever happened to Hoyer was tearing his ACL after 2.5 fluke games of throwing it up to Josh Gordon. it inflated his worth, led Cleveland to believe he might be an option. he is not good. if the Jets bring him in it will mean Geno Smith is the starter next year because Smith will beat him out in training camp. he would be a depth signing, a backup QB
Hoyer wasn't playing bad last season until Mack went down and the offensive line started to suck after that Is he anything great no but the qb free agency is an absolute joke
I agree totally. Out if all the options via FA ...Hoyer is my favorite ...things went bad with his o-line and the constant manziel shit had to be a distraction ...is he Nick Foles? Probably not, but.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Browns imploded as a whole - I think he should def be an option in FA - we need another QB here. Geno Smith and Fitzpatrick are good throwers? Seriously? Hoyer can make some plays - it does matter who Hoyer was throwing to - barely had Cameron Jordan out there, Josh Gordon suspended - didn't play well when he came back. Offensive line had injuries - you need to consider the situation. I think Hoyer still has something left to prove - rather have him then Fitzpatrick. Mallet is another option.
