I think Matt Moore will be the FA QB signing. I'm sure it will be met with some backlash, but it makes sense. He won't break the bank. He won't come in here expecting to be handed the starting job, and if we end up drafting Mariotta, those three can all compete. Plus there is the Bowles connection from Miami. I'm not saying it is ideal, but it makes the most sense.
yeah… it kind of is. good thing we got ours with B.marsh and didn't cut Harvin for the sake of it. without either we're in a desperate dash for another big time WR as opposed to now where we can safely cut PH and move forward to FA and the draft at our leisure. we played things pretty well.
Jason Cole @JasonPhilCole · 16m16 minutes ago Echoing @CharlesRobinson, high-placed source told me w/ confidence Suh is going to #Dolphins. 2nd source said #Lions only other team chasing i don't trust this guy ever, but still worth posting. maybe
Remember when Peyton Manning was a lock to go to the Dolphins? Don't believe anything until it is official.
Get these guys and I will be happy: RB: CJ Spiller OR Reggie Bush OR Demarco Murray - I'm not a huge spiller fan, but I do think he would help out. Reggie I like the most since they could get him cheap. Murray will be pricey and there's questions about whether the O line of the cowboys helped him out too much. CB: Byron Maxwell OR Buster Skrine AND Antonio Cromartie or Darelle Revis -I still think Revis will end up re signing with the patriots. Byron will cost a ton, but they need him. Cromartie is a guy who will not cost a lot and who is familiar with Bowles as well as the Jets. OG: Mike Iupati or Orlando Franklin or Clint Boling -I most want Franklin since Iupati will cost big dollars. S: Rahim Moore or Devin Mccourty -Mccourty is likely going to the Eagles....Eagles are expected to all-out pursue him. Rahim Moore, however, would be a decent signing. QB: Jake Locker or Mark Sanchez -before you all hate me, let me explain. Sanchez is probably the best FA QB out there right now. In terms of experience and success. Sanchez only needs to play a role in Chan Gailey's offense, which I think would suit him well. Short slant passes/mid range targets was Sanchez's forte. He did not have a very good deep ball. I don't want Sanchez to be our QB going forward, but he's a good stop gap option. Otherwise, I like Jake Locker. Locker has had some success with the Titans before being injured multiple times...on top of that he's very athletic. I will be happy if these scenarios play out. CB, OG, S, QB, and RB are the most pressing needs.
If locker could stay healthy I'd take him over sanchez Sanchez was still a turnover machine in a qb friendly system on eagles Also I just don't wanna see him back in a jets uniform the fact anyone would want to is a joke
Sanchez never had an elite WR Corp like Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, and Jeremy Kerley before. Maclin was their best WR and Riley Cooper is simply not that good. Sanchez was more capable in leading an offense that I've ever seen Geno do.
Hoyer is not better than Sanchez. I don't see where you think he is. Hoyer went through a stretch worse than Geno last year.
So you think Matt Moore, Jason Campbell, Blain Gabbert, Shaun Hill, and Tavaris Jackson are all better than Sanchez. When will you realize this isn't a great FA class for QBs. Sanchez is the best among this crop. Sadly, "Anybody" other than these QB duds are not available.
The QB situation is bad, understood. Everybkdy knows that. But as bad as it is The Dirty is not coming back, thankfully. I don't care whether or not he's better than any of the other jouneyman QB's. I'd rather watch one of those sabotage games than watch him do that anymore. Anybody they sign who exhibits a fundamental comprehension of the concept of ball security is light years ahead of Sanchez and Geno.
Sanchez is probably better than both of them; but given his history with this franchise, he'd be crazy to come back.
Maclin cooper Matthews mccoy sproles Those are good weapons and he still threw 11 ints in 9 games........he could be playing on the Broncos or green bay he still will turn the ball over at a rediculious rate Sanchez played in 9 games last season on a good team threw 11 ints Geno playing in 14 games threw 13 ints I'm not defending Geno because he sucks also but i would rather see what he has in gaileys offense then bring back that jerkoff sanchez
You are comparing apples an oranges with the stats. Different teams, different coaches, different opponents. Geno Smith has been nothing short of an abomination for us. While Sanchez is not my first choice we could use a veteran QB with experience (preferably playoff experience) that will not make the incredibly stupid mistakes that will cost us games that are otherwise winnable.
