Good question. I hope that he isn't a goner, but he may be asking for way too much money. That said, the Jets hold all the cards. He's a restricted FA. I'm sure he will be tendered by the deadline. They can let him test the market and then match whatever he is offered.

There is no risk of losing Snacks, the Jets will match, cause I doubt he's going to get an outrageous offer from another team.

I wouldn't say that there is "no" risk, but agree that there is little risk in losing him. That said, a lot of teams have cap space and someone lacking a quality DT/NT could offer him outrageous money or structure the contract offer with a poison pill that the Jets may not be willing to match.

There really isn't too much of a risk, if some team wants to pull up the brink's truck for Snacks, they can have him. He's real good player, but not an elite one.

Agreed that he isn't elite. He's very good against the run, but offers little in the way of pressuring opposing QBs. I think there could be some risk if Ellis signs elsewhere then Snacks gets an outrageous offer, but in that case, the Jets would probably just bite the bullet and pay him so as not to have a hole in the middle of their DL.

While I want Snacks to stay, at this point my concern isn't over losing him as much as wondering why he hasn't been tendered? What are they waiting for?

I guess they are getting a feel for what his value is to other teams during this 3 day window so they can decide whether to tender him as a 1, 2, or whatever?

If they tender him as a 2, and he signs elsewhere, I can live with that.

But if he isn't tendered by the deadline and signs elsewhere, the Jets are left empty handed, no?

    I like Brian "Sackpo" alot.

Antonio Cromartie will also be a value player. He played for the Cards last year at a $4 million salary. Guys like Byron Maxwell will command at least $10 mil

Yeah, there's no way I'd sign him for that.

Give me Revis at around 15 mil if we're going to go that route.

I hope they fix the CB situation first. The longer we wait the more threads will appear concerning Revis.
    Just get the shit done.

No, your right. It isn't. The last few years have shown that.

Idzik was still trying to prove Millner wasn't a bust. He then decided to sniff glue when Cromartie left....

Would rather pay that kind of money to get McCourty.
