I love how huge we are in the passing game now, with Decker, Marshall and hopefully Amaro i'd say what we lack in top end burners we'll gain in physical mismatches.

This is why I hope we sign Torrey Smith (probably unlikely with the Marshall trade), or draft someone like Dorsett. Could use a burner to compliment these guys.

Just expressing my thoughts dude; never said they were solid. BTW seems like both sides are having bullshit for dinner over this.

Coming around to the fact that Mariota could be our QB honestly.

    Express away, np
Yes, both sides looking from own perspective, but objectively getting BM for a 5th with year-to-year contract... Idk how you can get it better than this.

    As for off field issues...
Joe and Evan did a reading of his domestic charges, maybe it was Lupica... Anyway...
There were several, but all had no evidence and charges dropped within 1-2 days. Funny thing is the only altercation that had evidence was when his GF stabbed him. Really sounded like he hooked up with one of those bitches. Regardless, he was "clean" for something like 5-6 years.

I don't think any team would trade for Harvin, because of his contract. He's due to earn about $10m under his current contract, with the team that traded for him would have to fulfill. He'll probably be cut and sign with another team for ~$5m or so.

Great move. Always been a fan of Marshall, great after the catch. Will be a huge playmaker for us.

might be better to play it with a rookie, Dorsett works. as good as he is B.Marsh is more of a short term option. acquiring a cheap younger option over the next few years that (thanks to ou 3 starting vets) can ease himself into a pivotal role may be in our best interest.

…really this should be our modus operandi in most positions, especially tackle.

I get the feeling he'll be more of a possession man in green and white, with lower YAC than previously attained. good, but not AS dynamic.

    I'm looking for 90 rec's for a 1k this year.

Excellent move. Big Mac is off to a great start.

Still need Spiller and vertical speed in the seam.

He's better than that. As long as we have solid QB play (I.e., not Geno) he'll be very good.

Our receiving game is good but the passing game (i.e. who is throwing the passes) is still weak. Unless we can address QB somehow then our best bet is going to be to dramatically improve the line to at least give Geno some time and pray he doesn't throw as many interceptions as a result.

No. He's actually the Marshawn Lynch of WRs.

I remember watching an interview of Brandon Marshall at the Pro Bowl several years ago and coming away very impressed. He displayed all of the traits of a winner - positive, upbeat, optimistic, dedicated to his craft, and driven to succeed. He spoke of how he wanted to do his best every time he stepped onto the field, even in a meaningless game like the Pro Bowl, and it showed on the field in that game as well. A true professional. It was one of the reasons I ended up drafting him onto my fantasy team the next year (his first with the Bears), and he helped me win the league championship in a very competitive league.

He will improve our offense more than any other non-QB this year, and will be a positive influence on the whole team! A great move by Mac and the Jets! :)

The true value of this trade will depend on which Geno Smith is throwing the pig skin. The Geno who threw 3 ints in under 3 mins for a QB rating of -500, or the Geno who had the 2nd best QB rating (P Manning) over the last 5 regular season games.

If it's the first Geno Smith, we need an over under for how many games before Marshall bolts the locker room door closed and goes looking for his QB.

First of all, that's the old Marshall you are describing....he has matured a lot since those days. The last 3-4 years, nobody in the league has been more of a professional than him.

Secondly, he will make Geno better. With Marshall, it's much more likely that the good Geno will show up most of the time. All he has to do is get the ball in the vicinity of Marshall and he will haul it in. He doesn't have to be all that accurate, and Marshall is the kind of receiver who is frequently open even when "covered". He will make Geno look a lot better than he actually is, and probably help his development as well.
