And I find it hilarious how they're blaming Marshall for everything that occurred this season, when they had a million other far more issues. But, I guess that's their way of spinning it into a supposed positive.

they ripped us even harder for harris:

"Good lord, what are the Jets doing? In a span of just four hours, they managed to poison their locker room and overpay for an aging defender. Is it too late to bring John Idzik back? Because as awful as he was, he was even too smart to pull a move like this.

This is a terrible contract. David Harris, who just turned 31, is a mere two-down linebacker. He's strong against the run, but struggles in coverage. He's not getting any younger, and his best days are obviously behind him, so it's puzzling why the Jets would throw $15 million guaranteed his way. If they offered him $5 million guaranteed, I still would've thought that would be too much. They're paying on past performance, which is a horrible error to make in free agency.

New York endured a nightmare offseason last year, and it appears as though history is repeating itself. It's getting embarrassing, and it doesn't appear as though the team will have much success until Woody Johnson sells the team. "

You're right, have no clue how Boldin and Johnson put up those numbers with QB's/QB situation arguably worse. Good thing we have guys who put up numbers with Jay Cutler and Tim Tebow.

Mac and Bowles (who's a defensive guru) thought Harris was worth resigning. I'll take their opinion over this schmuck.

And it's not a terrible contract, it's a fair one.

LOL. Pay no attention to any Chicago media source. Their reports are the only thing more corrupt than their police force.

Thank the heavens that we got rid of Idzik or he never would have made this trade. Probably would have given Harvin a huge contract. What a "coup"

I think theres a subtle underlining to this contract to. It not an outragous amount over value but it clearly is overpaying. However David Harris has been through thick and thin with this organization and has always been a hardworker and producer. now a new regime comes in who has no ties to him rewards him with this contract. he gets more then hes worth and gets to keep his family in their home.

I think if I was a player, especially a young player, I would see that as a glowing endorsement as to how this regime will treat its players. most teams would be looking for a hometown discount, making players choose between home and money. It would be refreshing to see players get rewarded for their efforts above and beyond required compensation. this along with a players coach/gm and world class facilities should set the jets up for being an attractive destination for FA's....

all we need now is to win some games!

I agree. Not saying it's a great contract, but it's a fair one. Plus, it's only for two years really, and I think Harris will be fine during those years.

With it being a fifth rounder and there being no cap ramifications if they want to cut ties I like the move.

Why the media already trying to make him out to be a headache? He only really flips out when it comes to Cutler. He feels thats his best friend.. and cutler never appeared to feel the same way lol. Yeah we all know Marshall don't got it all up there but he's not all THAT bad. He loves Cutler he always wants the best for him even if it's tough love Marshall feels they are brothers and i guess that he's entitled to that. Maybe they would've gotten along better if Cutler CARED more about football but thats another story.. it's similar to Dez ranting on his sidelines he's not screaming at people in a negative sense, he's hyping them up trying to get them going. Miami just wasn't a good fit for him honestly he was bound to leave there regardless. I don't think he's ruining teams locker rooms though.

We wasted three picks last year trying to find a decent WR. The team trades a 5th rounder and gets one. Bingo. Score.

It's funny he says his best days are behind harris but he had the 11th most tackles in the nfl last season and I think was towards the tops in sacks for MLB....ya he's know Luke K. Or Patrick Willis but he can play and is a big reason why we usually have a stout run D

Colin Kapernick is worse then Geno?Shaub was worse then Geno?Bottom line there really aren't that many other starting QBs worse then Geno Smith.Let's not forget that awsome Buffalo game where Genos high football IQ was on full display when he threw three consecutive INTs on what was the same play
