lol, i will say his face annoys me.
i really hope he doesn't saturate the media with appearances. would rather see him on the field than the airwaves spewing nonsense.

Lol I think it's theraputic for him, the pills and being a good guy on tv and discussing thins keeps him sane.. I wouldvnrather that them him going bananas and punting footballs into the stands. Lol

This makes a lot of sense. We draft Mariota at 6. Then draft DGB in the second round. Marshall can be his role model on and off the field. Mariota has a great receiving corp to develop and help him succeed. This sets us up for (somewhat) immediate success as well as in the long run since DGB would become greatness following the footsteps of Marshall. Also will help Mariota and DGB develop chemistry for years to come.

No problem. It's easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment. I apologize if I got hostile or defensive. Peace. I really am not the enemy or Smith's enemy.

I can understand liking and having hopes that Geno will pan out. As I said, I don't hate Geno, and I hope he develops. Unless or until he clearly demonstrates that he is their QB of the future and can play on a consistently high level, however, if I'm the GM I'm kicking the tires on FA QBs and QBs in the draft every year until I found someone that could play the position solidly. IMO that was the beauty of taking Geno in the 2nd round. It didn't mean that they had to make him the "guy" and give him 3-4 years. If they could find a better prospect or another good prospect they could bring him in, and let the two of them compete for the starting job, or if it was a vet maybe given him the job and let Geno sit. One thing for certain is that I wouldn't sit back and hope Geno develops. I'd look to upgrade the OL and WR corps and do everything I could to help him develop. It's unfortunate for both Geno and the Jets that he was thrown to the wolves his first season. He needed to sit and develop. I still would have taken Teddy Bridgewater in a NY minute last year, but I would have brought in a veteran to start and mentor the two of them.

I'd truly love for the Jets to take Mariota and then see both Geno and Mariota develop into quality QBs. It would be a great situation to be in. The Jets could then have great insurance for a year or two, then trade one of them for a high draft pick or two.

He'll be okay. Marshall's very likable. I've seen him plenty in interviews, and in studio.

I would like to see him go off on Geno tho..... j/k. :D

Actually hopefully we don't have to be subjected to Geno anymore

I think it is safe to say that we will not draft a WR in the first two rounds.

Also DGB is a head case to begin with, if Marshall is his role model it will not end well.

I'm only worried we don't get a qb. Lol I want cutler or foles no MARIOTA.. I know everyone hates cutler here, but I think it's an upgrade.

I don't think it's that safe, honestly. If Mariota is gone and White or Cooper are on the board, I can easily see them taking one of the two. Fowler will be gone, Beasley/Gregory aren't surefire pass rushers, yadda yadda yadda. I think White are Cooper are a whole lot more surefire than who will be available.

i like the trade, but i've never really considered Marshall likable.

think he overdoes it with the media. there's time for that after your playing days are done.
and the whole yelling at teammates and going off on tirades........that's bush league diva stuff and reeks of over-acting.......even if it was warranted in Chicago..

i'd just like him to focus on playing, and not his next career, or trying so hard to 'lead' when others aren't following..

on the field, he's capable of quite a bit.
Bowles needs to reel him in a little..

This is a great trade. The Jets are able to add another legit starting WR to pair with Decker and gave up a 5th round pick only. Now I expect the Jets to add a vet QB through either free agency or a trade. If the Jets don't make a draft day trade, the jets should target a player like Dorsett in the 2nd round that can take the top off of the defense. If they do make the rumored trade with the Eagles, the Jets might target DGB since he has a lot of potential and could learn from Marshall and Decker.

agreed. if they like White or Cooper, and they are the BPA there, we should draft them.

Marshall is a very good short term bridge.
it's not like we can't get 3 good WR's on the field together in the meantime..

I like him. Always have. I've seen him in interviews, and liked him. I like the way he plays even more. I liked him when he was with Miami. Other than Chad I can't think of anyone else I would say that about, lol.

my biggest fear with this trade is it will knock white/cooper down the draft board. so right now i won't judge till after the draft.

Jefferey didn't have DGB's reputation as a trouble maker.

Brandon Marshall has grown into a great player/person. He will have his media therapy sessions... but as mentioned earlier i believe they keep him sane. Even though the press conferences for him are long and he talks really slow (literally, heeee... taaaallllkkksss.... liiiikeee.... thiiiiisss) He's actually a pretty interesting person considering his past and the things he been through.

i guess its a subjective thing.

certain personalities turn people off, and for me, he's got one of those personalities.

i've always respected his play on the field, but have never liked him without the helmet on.
the trade makes sense, but i'm still real lukewarm on Marshall.
won't be going out and buying his jersey ever, but am hoping he can provide more of that play which made me respect him to begin with, and stay off my TV otherwise. lol

Man I had the shittiest day today and this is the first thing I see when I get home. I love today!

Brandon Marshall is a beast, anyone who says differently is crazy. He will solve a lot of our redzone woe's from years past.

your right but he had his issues which cost him to fall in the draft. and he has turned out alright. the Head Case angle gets well overblown. Marshall is a 30 yr Old grown Man he isn't out here committing crimes. having a few outburst isn't killing anyone Irvin,TO and plenty of Receivers have done it in there careers . if anything he would be perfect person to show DGB how to redeem yourself. marshall is big in the off the field community stuff which he doesn't credit for..
