Yes and Mariota plays in thst offense.. No shot Arizona trades for him.. Look you may be right maybe he s the next great one. I just don't see it
Now the Jets need a WR who can take the top off of defenses which makes Kerley somewhat expendable if they can get a deep guy.
You would think so but due to the guaranteed contract the Bears would have to pay us to take Cutler (draft picks, players?). The contract could also be worked to move some salary to bonus so the Bears could share the cap burden with us. We could use an extra second rounder and Cutler would be an upgrade over Geno.
Ok he may not be a top 10 QB but he is MILES better than anything the Jets have had the past decade or so (depending on your opinion of favre). Anybody who wouldn't want Cutler especially where so little of his contract is guaranteed is absolutely nuts. To get on point, love this trade. Finally a real redzone threat and he's an absolute MONSTER as a blocker. He should help out quite a bit for the outside running game. This mitigates the need to spend on Cobb or Maclin this year and is of little risk. With this and re-signing Harris the only thing that could make this better would be extending Wilkerson.
First... you might wanna research Cutler's contract. Second... you would take Cutler, who has already failed twice with Marshall, once with more talent than the Jets currently have, because he's better than Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith? THAT my friend, is absolutely nuts.
why would we want Cutler? he is one of the worst QBs in the league. you will never win w/ a guy like Cutler. he has 1 postseason app and 1 postseason win(over a 7-9 team) in his career while playing on talented teams nearly every year. I wouldn't take Cutler for free, I wouldn't take him if he added $10 mil in cap space.
He's absolutely better than both Sanchez and Geno. That still doesn't mean we should trade for him. That would be dumber than signing Revis for $14 mil.
Marshall can make Geno look a lot better than he is (assuming he's still the starter of course). All he has to do is get the ball in the vicinity of Marshall and he will pull it in. He's got a great wingspan and ability to out-fight the defender for the ball, and he will physically overwhelm smaller corners. Geno has to be loving this move!
You are a piece of work. Your reading comprehension isn't worth squat. I articulated that Mariota has a much higher football IQ than Smith, has a better work ethic, and a more accurate arm. So articulate that. Winston doesn't enter the equation. I never mentioned him. He's irrelevant to the Smith and Mariota conversation. Quit trying to deflect because you know you're wrong and got nothing. There are some similarities between Smith and Mariota and Mariota faces some of the same challenges that Smith has, but that doesn't mean that he will struggle in the way Smith has. Where did I say that Smith was the only problem with the Jets or that he should be give up on or shouldn't be allowed to compete for the starting job? You're taking things that others have said to you and trying to put them on me, and you're wrong so knock it off. I see upside in Smith too. He's too young to totally give up on, but by the same token if a QB comes along that has more talent and a higher football IQ, you'd be stupid to pass on him. They have no allegiance to Smith. He was chosen by the previous regime. It's their job to resolve the QB position, not to sacrifice themselves on the altar of Smith's NFL career. That you try to portray me as scapegoating Smith shows how wrong you are. For the last several months, I've been VERY CLEAR in blaming Rex Ryan and John Idzik for most of the Jets problems. If they had been back, I wouldn't have been as a Jets fan. So spare me your stupid and incorrect assumptions of who I've blamed for the Jets' problems. Before you open your mouth and make yourself look stupid, you need to read and comprehend what someone actually writes, and not accuse someone of something they've never said or believed.
Great start! Our WR core is best I've ever seen it been. Now let's get some offensive lineman and a pass catching RB
We should all hope he's right. No need to ruin the Marshall trade by following it up with a Cutler trade.
I've been hearing about the Jets trading for Cutler a lot today at work. I also heard from an Eagles fan that the Eagles and Jets already have a trade set up in case Mariota is available at #6. I think that'll depend on if we trade for someone else already or not.
Since 2009 Marshall has 19 receptions of 40 yards or more, in the same time frame Harvin has 10. 20 yards or more Marshall has 79 and even if you add in Harvins rushes he still only has 63.
PTI talking shit on the trade because we have no qb wtf does bill simmons know how is that jerkoff even on espn
My dream scenario is pulling off a draft day trade with Philly and Nick Foles being part of that trade.
