Good stuff. It sounds like he's using his own mental health issues to raise awareness, better others, and work toward decreasing stigma.

So on your walk home from work today, if you could just dream about the Jets having a QB like Aaron Rodgers, that would be great.

    thanks.

I like the notion that defenses just can't keep everything in front of them. Marshall, while not having elite speed, does have the capability of winning 50/50 balls, which should open up the offensive play calling.

Now, if we can get an OG and a RB to complement him...

Especially in a spread offense, Amaro might as well be a WR. So that's 6-4, 6-3, 6-5... Nice

Great deal for us. (Pending the physical) Perhaps Marshall's earlier emotional issues are now managed with proper medication. The last few times I've seen him interviewed, I wondered where that reputation came from. Seemed like a gamer to me.

Fine. Don't read my posts or put me on ignore. I could care less. If you can't see Mariota's talent, then you're the one with the problem, not me. Saying Smith is on par with Mariota is laughable.

I don't dislike or hate Geno. I was one of the few who wanted the Jets to draft him. He has just proven to be a disappointment. His football IQ isn't very high nor are his instincts. I don't think all the WRs and OL in the world are gonna change that. He should get better under Gailey, but I don't think his best can even begin to scratch the surface of what Mariota is capable of doing.

Cutler is a bad QB and he wasn't able to get it done with Marshall twice. Bringing him on board would make absolutely no sense.

IMO opinion Mariota very over hyped.. I wouldn't want to chance it... When bruce Arians says playing in that offense isn't qbing. I got to listen..

I think your hopes for Mariota are safe as far as the Tennessee angle.

It is way to early to say one way or another, but for whatever it's worth, in this particular case I tend to believe the reports that are out there. It's not crazy to think they feel good enough about what Mettenberger showed in limited action that they are willing to address a different area with the #2 overall pick.

The thinking around the team seems to be Tennessee has way too many holes on defense for them to pass on Leonard Williams. Their run defense, in particular, was gashed all year long.

Wow! Still can't believe Brandon Marshall is a damn JET!!! That's exciting! Hopefully for the first time in his career he'll see the playoffs with us.

Only thing is now we're kind of slow on offense, but we have guys that we know can get that ball out the air, especially in the redzone.

I agree, I am. It was hyperbole on my part. I despise him and don't want him playing for the Jets, but I wouldn't really want to see him hurt. I've already suffered through Vinny Interceptaverde Part One. I have no interest in Part Two. So instead, I'd just stop rooting for and following the Jets, because if Cutler is Mac's idea of fixing the QB position, then I want no part of him or the Jets.

And yet you haven't articulated how Mariota is better or even different than Smith. So, maybe it's you with the problem. Again, people who are actually paid to grade players have mentioned separation between Winston and Mariota. People who are paid to judge players have mentioned that there are significant challenges QBs who played in the type of system Mariota played in will likely have. It's very similar to the challenges Smith has faced during his first two years. In that way, the players are similar. Mariota is more mobile. Smith has the bigger arm. AND Smith has already spent two seasons playing in the NFL, albeit with limited success. That said, if it were just Smith, if Smith were THE problem with the Jets offense, Jets management would not have fired both the GM AND the HC...and they would not even be considering for the starter's job. People who are paid to judge see both the mistakes and the upside of Smith AND see how the Jets left him hamstrung with a poor pass-blocking OL and limited receiving threats. That you refuse to see that and want Smith to be the scapegoat for the Jets failures shows that you are blinded by your animosity toward Smith and would make a rash decision that probably wouldn't serve the franchise as well as simply upgrading the talent around Smith BEFORE relegating him to "bust" status.

He didn't say that about Mariota, just spread QBs in general. There are always exceptions. Besides...he could have been blowing smoke and AZ may be trying to trade up to get a shot at Mariota. Think for yourself. Use your eyes.

Maybe this will help us improve from being the 33rd best red zone team. Marshall, Amaro, Decker inside the 20 is no joke.
