Nice I would have guessed it would have been the fourth the Jets would have lost for having Harvin on the team, but a fifth is better, now cut Harvin, save our 4th and money and let's get guys like Iupati, McCourty, Cromartie, Flowers/Maxwell, and even possibly another WR addition.

Bye Bye Harvin, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

So if we cut Harvin we essentially traded a 5th and 6th for Marshall and a year of service from Harvin.
If we keep Harvin we traded a 4th and 5th for Harvin and Marshall.

Either one does look pretty good, depending on cap implications. I just wonder what it means for our FA and draft strategy. If Cooper or White are available do we pick them over a high rated OLB or maybe even Mariota? Obviously Marshall isn't going to be around forever.

Makes for a bit more intrigue leading up to free agency starting shortly.

I'd like to draft a WR. And not a WR like last year. Lots of good picks in this draft. Not a huge need, but still a need.

That 4th rounder looks mighty nice to the Jets, its essentially a late 3rd rounder. So Harvin probably gone.

Well Id much more prefer Cooper or White but those guys require us staying at 6 and taking a WR early. Depends a lot on if Mariota is there.

Even if we go all out in free agency it would still be nice to fleece Philly for Foles and a bunch of picks.

To me Foles looks like a better fit for a Chan Gailey offense with our weapons. Geno is too much of a mental midget.

I disagree, but I guess that's just probably me having an aversion to folks calling Black QBs dumb. And, really, Foles lost out to Sanchez, so, not a world beater by any means. I'd like to see Smith get a chance with some actual weapons and blockers before I label him. But that's just me I suppose.

Marshall will only cost $7.7M against the Jets cap. $7.5M salary plus a 200K workout bonus.

LOL his skin color has nothing to do with it. Sanchez was a mental midget too. Tons of white QB's are as well.

Foles isnt great but is light years better than Geno.

    30 TD/4000 yard potential.

Geno couldnt reach those numbers in a 20 game season.

And did you really just say Foles lost out to Sanchez? Ummmmm

As expected the hate train is quick to follow

I also expect our fellow dolphino fans are going to sour on us for having Marshall...I bet they wish they had him over Mike Wallace tho

Foles started off well and then was rumored to be losing his job when he got hurt. 14 TDs 13 INTs at one point. Sanchez is inaccurate, that doesn't make him dumb. I have issue with fans constantly questioning the intelligence of players, especially when you read some of the stupid shit they write.

And, again, with the utter shit the Jets lined up around Smith, the really dumb thing was him accepting the starting job. IMO, if you look at other successful offenses, they have people being WIDE OPEN. The Jets rarely had that, except in the last game against the Dolphins. Everything was always having to be thrown into a tight window with pass rushers bearing down. That can make any QB look dumb.

Cool! Receivers don't age like running backs, he as a good 4 or 5 solid years left.

Harvin will be cut...don't think that is a question. The question is whether to re-sign him. My answer is yes if we can get him in the 4-5mil range, he becomes our immediate slot receiver and kerley is expendable. Love the guy, but he is getting too much for a 4th receiver, whose money and roster slot should go to a developmental draft pick.
