I hope not too. I think he would be a great pick for us.

Put a sock in it already 'Yenta.'

NOBODY wants to read this low rent, sanctimonious gossip.

Could be a smokescreen . But being a Parcells disciple I have my doubts Bowles and co would draft a rookie QB at #6 at least not one as raw as mariota. I know for a fact Bill sure as hell wouldn't .

    Should interesting

Because we don't know if he will be a pro bowler, so I would rather give up a shot at ONE for a shot at MULTIPLE.

    At QUARTERBACK no less.

Makes zero sense to give another franchise our franchise QB.

Gotta laugh at everyone calling Mariota a franchise QB. Lack of foresight at it's absolute finest. Not saying it's impossible, but to definitively say so either way right now is just foolish.

Isnt everyone just guessing. Isnt that all you're doing by saying he is a franchise QB?

I actually like his chances in the right situation. He needs to be developed similarly to Aaron Rodgers.

Edit: Didn't see the post above yours.

Haven't you been banned before? Getting banned on an internet message board is embarrassing. Getting so frustrated at people you've never met before... I can't imagine it.

Either way, since you're pretty sure he's going to be a franchise QB, can you explain why you think that? I mean, the guy was a surefire #1 pick and now he could be available to us at 6 and we may not even take him. Franchise QBs don't slip like that in a draft where there are only two QBs worth a first round pick.

Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers? Seems like a pretty similar situation tbh.

Of course Washington may want Mariota for themselves. Hard to say. Are they invested in Griffin? He seems to be rather fragile. Some locker room issues, too.

Who was calling Rodgers a franchise QB before the draft?

I'm sure plenty of people were, just like plenty of people weren't, just like Mariota.

There's a reason up until the draft it wasn't super obvious who was going to go 1.

Thank you. We went over this when the Philly trade talk first came out. Foles had his favorite receiver traded away last off season, there were protection issues with the OL that were largely resolved by the time Sanchez was in there, and Kelly was adding offensive plays and schemes that are not suited to Foles's pocket passer style. He still was a far better Qb than Smith, and only went to the bench when he got hurt.
