Would be a nice addition for them. Do they have a lot of space??

I know they are also blowing up the WR corps.

How the hell can they pull that off? They have less than 10M in cap space right now and this guy alone will demand about 16M+ yr, putting them well over the cap before resigning any more of their own free agents, draft picks or other free agents. They'd still have to make more major cuts. If they could somehow get Suh, they'd be sacrificing their team in many other spots too

Indy makes more sense to me if Detroit doesn't resign him. That team is perennially soft on defense, especially along the line and they actually have the cap space to sign him

$15.363 in cap room as of right now.

They can still make cuts, but I can't see how they could even think about affording Suh.

They can do what virtually every other team in NFL history that signed the most expensive free agent in a year did: mortgage the future by renegotiating contracts to push cap numbers out. Suffer the consequences over a three year period as their GM and coach both get it in the neck.

It's what happens when you forget that football is a team sport and whether you pay Albert Haynesworth or Mario Williams a King's Ransom you're going to be the Jester in the end.

Well yeah. I was asking how they could even think this on a logical level lol

I don't get why they need to do all this for a defensive guy. Miami's defense has been very good. If you have such limited cap space, why would you waste it all and leverage your entire future on a defensive lineman? I don't get it

Overthecap has them at ~9.5M below right now. But yes, either way it seems like a real stretch. He's an elite player, but it'll be a big burden on the rest of the team now and in the future

If this were to happen... man.. that would be beast! i'm praying it doesn't! Brady would get no sleep before any division game with all the pressure he's gonna face. along with the other 3 QB's in the division, but at least they can some what run away from pressure. Tom gonna do his fold to fetal and drop technique that he always does to avoid hits.

lol it might almost be worth Miami getting Suh just to watch that pansy Brady go gimp at first sign of pressure.

I actually wouldn't mind it, because for as great of a player as he is, I feel like he gets overrated. Plus he is easily my most hated player in the league, so going to a team I already can't stand would just feel right. Plus it would destroy their cap.

    Go right ahead Miami.

Terrific, Miami gets Suh, Buffalo gets McCoy, NE probably gets Andre Johnson if they want him and we get Chris Canty to come in to talk.

I guess we ought to sign a couple of guards.

Free agency hasn't even started Lmao

Miami hasn't gotten Suh. They are set to make a push for him when free agency begins. And New England hasn't grabbed Andre Johnson.

And the Jets will probably get Randall Cobb, Jeremy Maclin, McCourty, Revis, Cromartie, every other free agent available considering we have $55+ million in Cap space and we need to spend a TON of it.

I'm shocked Falco changed the article title in the thread title. I don't blame him, he probably just thinks it's a direct quote.

It's going to be hard to re-sign Wilkerson. The Jets have to decide if he's one of the elite DL in the NFL or just an excellent player. If he's elite then they bite the bullet and sign him that way. If they believe he's just an excellent player they trade him to somebody who believes he is elite for full value.

Suh to miami makes a lot of sense to me. They already have a good defense and he can put them over the edge. Theyve been in playoff contention the past few years, and no state income tax in florida

I'm not a big fan of giving away huge contracts to great players. One reason is the injury factor. Plus this guy has questionable behavior on the field and already has a few strikes on him. Next time he could get a sizeable suspension. The last time Miami gave up a huge contract was to Wallace a guy only a few years later they can't wait to get rid of. And more often than not this is how things play out. Most fans want the glitz and love these kinds of signings but it's not the way to build a team. You draft a great player get the best years out of him and then let them walk. Also Wilk's work effort has been questioned.

His value will never be higher than it is this off-season, given the fact that he still has a year left on his rookie deal and potentially another year with a franchise tag after that.

If we trade him, we ought to do it this off-season. If not, we should lock him down this off-season too.
