...I just saw this on NFL.com, and I HAD to post it here. Cmon mods, throw me this little bone, if people don't like it they can just ignore it and it will disappear on it's own.

"Rex Ryan: This is what Conor Orr wrote on Monday before the trade ever happened: "Don't underestimate the influence Rex Ryan can have in a new room of people."

Rex's influence in Buffalo, like Kelly's influence in Philadelphia, might never be higher. He just acquired a centerpiece for a run-first offense that has no quarterback to speak of. McCoy is coming off a down year, but he has been one of the five best runners in the league over the last five years. Rex sells. Shady sells. It's a great time for ...

Bills fans: It's been a while since they have felt this relevant. Their defensive line is the best in the league, and they have added Rex Ryan and LeSean McCoy before free agency even starts. Time will tell if the Bills look back fondly on the deal; we believe it could be a rare win-win. It undeniably makes the Bills more interesting."

Sounds like Rex Ryan will dictate the draft for the GM too...Rex is the master of OVERHYPE...Remember this gem:

Rex Ryan hints that Rob Ryan wanted Kyle Wilson in Cleveland
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 1, 2010, 5:37 PM EST
When the Browns were on the clock with the seventh pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Browns reportedly were debating whether the selection should be used on cornerback Joe Haden or cornerback Kyle Wilson.

The Browns opted for Haden. Wilson slid 22 more spots, landing with the Jets at the 29th position.

On Saturday, Jets coach Rex Ryan talked about Wilson. And Rex possibly put his twin brother, Rob, in a tough spot by strongly hinting that the Browns defensive coordinator wanted Wilson, not Haden.

“There is somebody that I really know well for a long time that basically said that he was their guy and they picked a lot earlier than us,” Rex Ryan said. “You can probably figure it out. That’s who he wanted and then after practice, I’m like ‘Yep. I guarantee you were right because this guy is the real deal.'

So good luck, Rob Ryan, as you attempt to make the appropriate bond with Joe Haden, the guy you didn’t want.

Meanwhile, Wilson’s agents now have some ammunition to lobby for a much bigger contract, given that Rex Ryan apparently regards Kyle Wilson as having talent reflecting a draft position much higher than his slot.

I am excited to see which defensive player Buffalo is going to draft in the first round. My guess is DL.

He has the same mindset with his D that Kelly has with the O. Plug in anyone and my system will get it done.

It's possible. Bills had a top D without Kiko last year so we'll see.

Rex has the right idea. But wouldn't signing Murray been a better idea? Or even trading for AP? He could've come a lot cheaper.

And i hope Rex signs D. Harris, so on 3rd and long he would have him cover Spiller,Harvin etc for the ez first.

except he doesn't have that mindset though. judging by his history of defensive-heavy acquisitions. If he truly felt that way maybe in his time here in NY we wouldn't have taken defense in rd. 1 for every single damn year.

maybe he's getting smarter in his second stop

Tanny listened to him. To the tune of LT, Santonio, JT, Tebow, Sanchez. It is part of why he got fired.

We won a few off seasons as well. I remember the Jets being the topic of discussions on ESPN and NFL Network.

Every year with Rex's moves, the Jets got worse. Now he is doing it to the Bills.

Buffalo fans are happy that they feel "relevant". We felt relevant too. Then Buttfumble happened.

LT and Santonio were pure Tanny guys. Rex never got that involved in the offense. Tebow was a Woody guy, it was well-documented that he pushed for Tebow despite Tanny and Rex not wanting him. Sanchez was the only one of those guys you listed who was clearly a Rex guy, and we can hardly blame him for that.... he was the Marcus Mariota of that draft, and most new head coaches want to draft their own QB to build around. Hindsight is 20/20 on that one, but at the time everyone thought it was a great move.

You really think Rex had the pull of every draft pick selection during his tenure here?

If we goes D in the 1st this year too does that make it Bowles' pick?

Not for nothing but we did find 2 stud lineman in the 1st round since Rex took over. Not every team can say that.

Oh I see, he had nothing to do with the draft picks here except when we want to discuss the good draft picks. That's not being biased or anything

It's not all or nothing so why are you taking it to the extreme? Obviously the draft is a group effort..that's why there is a draft room and not a head coach in an office making the picks.

To say Rex had all or none of the power is dumb and the only reason you're saying it is because you think it supports your argument. It doesn't.

Yeah, it was just a joke about how we always drafted D first with Rex. But now that you mention it, giving up a first rounder for Watkins, considering how many promising WRs were drafted later, was probably not worth it.

except I'm not making that extreme argument at all. I was merely pointing out that I don't think it's a coincidence that drafts were defense heavy in the Rex era and that your argument was pretty biased because you only want to associate him with the 2 good picks
