So if Geno in year 3 and not a high end first round pick makes it then would you think Idzik got the shaft after less than 2 years. And do we fire every GM who swings and misses on a quarterback. That would mean a lot of firings.

The jury's not out yet on Geno or either of his two drafts. This firing crap after two years (unless there is something we don't know about) is the stuff of lower end organizations like the Jets.

I hope by some miracle geno turns it around...

    Goodson
    Giacomini
    Patterson
    Vick
    Johnson

How many of both of idziks drafted players are still even on the team?

You can call it bad luck, but the fact is there was no indication whatsoever that miraculously he was going to turn it around after 2 horrible drafts and free agent signings.. Not just he was bad at evaluating talent, he was also incredibly cheap and annoyed agents, with his bs low ball tactics.. Look, I'm no fan of Dan Snyder and pay any guy 10x what he's worth, but you can't get the rep that this guy is unbearably frugile.

Not to mention. Letting cro walk and having no plan as to what to do.. Bowles and maccagnan are resectful guys nd never say anything bad about ryan or idzik, but the one thing they always say is... Corner is our pressing need... What he did over 2 years to the secondary in a press defense is unconscionable.. It be like me challanging you to a chess game and saying, by the way.. You only get pawns. Good luck lol

Ok so what were these bad moves.

    _[/QUOTE]
The list isn't fireable enough. And not signing Cro after a horrible year was smart.

Are you serious? Cro had a bad year cause he was hurt and wasn't looking to break the bank to stay. ... He got 3 mill a year, idzik In turn went and signed Patterson to the same deal, more over gave him 1 mill gurantee... Patterson was a career journey man who never played more than 10 games.. Thst sums up idziks talent evaluation.. Cro went on to the pro bowl, while Patterson is no longer in the nfl.

Missing on 90 percent of your draft picks does qualify to be fired.. Then, when he does choose to spend money, other than decker he spent it poorly. Case en point 1/6 jets, let's appease the fans and trade. 4 th rd pick for harvin, oh and by the wat he's the 3 rd highest paid reciever in the league, even though he's a special teams guy and can't play a full season.

I can go on and on about all his blunders,,

What do you see as his positives?

This thread has gone all out insane... Thank you, Chris for your efforts trying to preach sanity to the insane but what you are trying to do is impossible. If they don't get it by now, they never will. I am just thankful that Woody Johnson has half a brain - as opposed to these sheep who apparently have less than half a brain...

The rest of the nonsense I read here doesn't even deserve a response. Especially the comment about us taking credit for Idzik's firing - which I never once did. At the end of the day, the fact remains. Idzik is gone. It was the right move. Let's all move on.

Please name the 90% he missed. You said 90 now so list them. Tons of guys are getting cut after bad seasons and injuries. You don't fire a GM for not re-signing a guy in that category. And as you should know a draft can't be judged off of a year or even two. After both drafts the Jets got decent grades from draft experts.

You said it was your "mission" in life. Which is lamo in my book.

Everything I say you dispute and say no that's not a reason. So let's make this easy. What good things do you think idzik did that warranted him to stay? So far all you say as I list mistake after mistake is... That's not a reason.. That just bad luck. Not his fault it didn't work out..

Seriously, you realize his whole job or any gm for that fact is to make decesions that work out? That is the job definition. So far by your logic and I say this with all due respect. No gm should ever be fired.. Every swing and miss is just bad luck in your eyes.

like Chris said, what do you see as his positives?
or name the 10% of draft picks that were good?

it will be a lot quicker a read trying to name the good stuff, then it would be to list every blunder.

    Good: Sheldon, Ivory, Amaro
Not bad: Decker (solid but overpaid)
    Bad: literally everything else

    End thread

Not to mention, you couldn't give him "one more year" b/c if you allow him to bring in a coach (who the hell was coming here to work for him anyway) then you can't fire Idzik after next season and keep the coach. If you do, you are putting the next GM in the same situation Idzik was placed in - having to work with a coach that he didn't select. You would be continuing the dysfunction.

Your blind loyalty to a man that 99% of people agree should have been fired is really odd. But your arrogance and lack of understanding of the big picture is what makes you intolerable.

Not loyal to Idzik but his drafts got C+s to Bs. I don't agree with the not getting a cover corner argument because they tried to sign the two best corners last free agency and both guys signed with other teams. Their choice. Then fire every other GM who needed a corner and didn't sign one. Davis preferred the Colts and DRC the Giants. Patterson was a good signing because he's a decent vet CB. It didn't work out off the field. Every team has a signing like Woodson who was actually a good RB with fresh legs. As for the mission comment that was your words. All I'm saying is that two years isn't fair. In terms of grading his drafts and personnel moves. And this Fire Idzik movement is irrational. If he was so bad why not fire him last year. Only after a 4-12 do these morons start screaming bloody murder and looking for a scapegoat to blame. Believe me it wasn't one guy esp someone with the Jets under two years. What about the head coach who was given 6 years.

There was sentiment to fire him year 1 .. Rex should gave resigned and gone out a hero at 8/8 . You lost me at Patterson.. He was not a good signing.. Guy was hurt his whole career and to sign him and not resign cromartie for the same money was insane.. Not to mention the mill gurantee he got for his 5 weeks of service.. If he was such a good signing, why did no other team sign him? He walked out cause on the field issues, he sucked and was being replaced in the starting line up.

The reason why we lost out n Davis and DRC is cause idzk offer was a joke. Not cause they liked other places better. We weren't even in the ballpark.

4/12 is not all on idzik, 2 years isn't a long time.. To get fired in 2 years you have to be a catastrophic failure. Which he was.
