about the lone grad student Roy took, a guy who was Salutatorian of his HS class and graduated from Alabama w/ a near 4.0 GPA. Certain folks are trying to bring down the men's basketball program by attaching other misdeeds to them but the facts don't bear that out.

by "certain folks trying to bring down the program" are you referring to long time university personnel in Cheryl Thomas (admissions director) & Mary Willingham?

Mary Willingham definitely but I was more referring to certain media types in that area.

Well that's pretty much arbitrary and capricious empty calorie rhetoric. Again, I went to bat for the Baby Blue & White today while not resorting to personal attacks…..sob[IMG]
Can you say the same? No and that alone should speak for itself. Tis' not I who've behaved like a broken condom here….[IMG]

And I too could've said something totally asinine, for example something along the lines of "it was only the football players that were guilty, not the basketball program….don't believe the ramblings of a spiteful basketball player" but that would come across as emotionally-charged claptrap from a head-in-the-sand "project & deflect" enabler. And by project & deflect, I mean accusing 'awful posters' of derailing a thread while in the same breath demanding to know why we aren't investigating the possibility--the possibility--of a Coach K sex assault coverup. Possibilty and probabilty: oil & water.

On behalf of the true University of North Carolina defenders (and not the faux friend apologists of their seemy underbelly) I deserve and expect an apology. Thank you, that is all.

    Tonight's tilts:

#2 Virginia at Syracuse. Defensive Cavs look to go Scrooge on Christmas & co.

#14 Baylor at Texas. Getting to be do-or-die time for the underperforming (coach on hot seat?) Longhorns. Texas needs a win.

#15 Oklahoma at #17 Iowa State. Cyclones need to pick it up after back-to-back losses.

all the facts back Carolina basketball, there is not a shred of evidence to back McCants' story or of any fraud w/in the men's basketball program but keep spouting off about what you know nothing about. it continues a trend.

    Again with the attacks.

    Goodbye, it's been a pleasure……Mr. hook, line & sinker… : -)

I try to ignore it but it's hard to ignore such stupidity day after day after day. you can be funny at times but when you try too hard you fail. Let it come naturally so you can continue to be a decent court jester for us.

Worthy of a 1 seed? Gonzaga’s 2 losses have come by a combined 6 points and to teams in Top 25 of BPI

So BPI is good, but RPI is not?

Very clearly - You trashed my use of the RPI in defending my argument, but you used the BPI to state yours.

I do like BPI more than RPI but I don't use either to state a case. I think they are all useful to helping select the field and seed them but common sense has to come first. 'Nova is 5 in RPI and 6 in BPI, you love RPI so much so I guess you are ok w/ 6 loss Kansas being ahead of them and they should get a #1 seed over 'Nova?

After watching the Virginia game last night, I have to ask: How is it possible that Gonzaga was ever ranked ahead of them?
