We had cap space which your contingent claimed he refused to spend. And Percy Harvin was a legit acquisition (getting him for a 4th to 6th was a steal). And worth taking a chance on. You said why save all of that cap space when we had over 20 mil. Well when given the opportunity to get an impact player (in the offense plus on special teams) he aggressively made that deal. He was criticized for getting him too late by the haters but Harvin was not made available by Seattle until the time he was traded during the season. As for keeping him at 10.5. No guaranteed money so they donn't have to keep him if he doesn't want to renegotiate. And maybe he will.
I don't truly believe Woody saying he would have re-signed Revis for 2014. Esp after he stated at his presser that if he had known Kraft was getting him for 12 mil he would have made that deal, too. He was just shooting the breeze. He later said in the same presser that he couldn't work with the Revis agents. He said that. If Woody wanted Revis for 2014 he would have just ordered Idzik to sign him. Instead he fires him for doing what he asked him to do. And the Revis deal to the Bucs was a good smart deal. We got two picks for him including the Wilk pick.
I agree the deal was good, Revis is impossible on a business level. Not resigning him was stupid.. With that sad, I agree woody is a pain in the ass..nhe did make tannenbaum fall on the sword for tebow. Woody does meddle behind the scenes, nregardless idzik was really terrible
Idzik didn't do an overall good job but he deserved at least another year. As for Obama, compared to the Tea Party he's a genius.
Idzik did not deserve another year, he would have annihalated the franchise... Obama is arguably the worst president ever, with that said.. The tea party people are insane. Lol
Idzik didn't ruin anything. And his 2 drafts could end up being fair to ok. He did draft at 13 the best player in the 2013 draft. As for Obama. There is no way this guy is the worst president ever. That falls on George Bush II. Thanks for the Iraq War, the terrible economy (which Obama brought back), etc. All the terrible stuff going on right now in the Middle East starting with those lying dirtbags, Bush and Cheney.
How can you defend idzik? Not being a dick, it's an impossibility in my opinion.. Obama is the biggest con man ever, bush/Cheney were animals and made some poor decesions, but they were put in bad positions by world events
Obama bring back the economy? I own business for years, it's never been worse.. That's just from a small business perspective.. False economy and a celebrity president. Guy is a clown... Coolest president ever, but has no clue what he's doing.. I'm not saying bush was Amy better. Back to back the worst 2 presidents we have ever had.. I think that's fair to say
Bush and Cheney lied to start a war for oil not for freedom. Also Halliburton Cheney's company got hundreds of millions in contracts during the Iraq War. As terrible as Saddam was the daily life for people in that area before the US attacked was 100x better than it is now. I totally disagree about Obama. He turned around the economy with almost no help from Congress who thanks to the insane Tea Party-you can't get any thing accomplished. His no boots on the ground for the US and trying to build a coalition is intelligent. How would you like it if US troops were getting their heads cut off on TV which is what will happen if you do that. If history judges Obama fairly he's going down as one of the best all time US Presidents.
I think your delusional saying he will go down as one of the best presidents ever, let's agree to disagree as were so far off on opinions we will never meet in the middle. Lol only thing you said I agree with, I do think it was absolutely disgusting cheneys war profiteering.
Have to give credit where it is due. If you in fact came up with this after the Green Bay game, then you truly had your finger on the pulse of the team. But to add more to what you're saying...really the root cause of all of this is WOODY JOHNSON. That's the idiot that hired Idzik to begin with. I had never realized it but you had a lawyer, operations manager, and an owner interviewing GM candidates. WTF is the talent evaluator guy to sit in on this interview? Being a GM isn't 100% about the cap, in fact I'd say it's a very small part of it. To field a good team you must have someone with an eye for talent. In fact, worry about talent FIRST then worry about cap concerns later on. So really the villain here is Woody Johnson and no one else. It's his own stupidity that led to this f*cking disaster. What's worse is he fired the only good HC he's had since owning the Jets just to cover up his own mistakes.
he compounded his poor offseason plan with an absurd in-season move and wound up looking like a complete buffoon with absolutely no plan. He claimed he was saving that money - but then spent 1/3 od it when the season had gone past the point of no return.. On an overpaid, injury prone, disruptive player... Giving up one of his precious draft picks (the lifeblood of the organzation under his "plan") in the process. The trade was a complete contradiction of the plan he outlined. So let's be honest about what it really was - fan appeasement. He hoped that bringing in Harvin would calm down the fanbase and maybe help win a couple of games in an otherwise lost season... Fortunately he is no longer here to make the situation worse and actually pay Harvin 10.5 million this year. Maccagnan will do the right thing and either restructure him or send him packing.
Bringing in Harvin didn't quell anyone. He was available at that time so he made a good deal. This is what we heard in the Mehta attack on Idzik which your group was aligned with.
Aligned with Mehta?! Lol.... Dude - do yourself a favor and stop talking about things that you have no clue about. We never once did ANY article with Mehta. Quite the contrary - he sent me a text (no clue how he got my number) and asked if we would talk to him and we said "no thanks"... We told him that we were real Jets fans and that talking to him would make us lose credibility among other Jets fans... He was insulted and never contacted us again. Do your homework before you talk. You will look less silly that way.
to be honest though - I don't understand why so many people hate Manish... I understand why they think his tabloid journalism is offensive... I understand why people wouldn't want to read it... But the man has a job to do and he is very good at it... His job is not to report facts - it is to self promote his articles and get people to read them. If you read Manish articles and give him clicks then you are a part of the problem... As for my feelings about him - he isn't offensive in any way b/c as far as I am concerned, Manish and his articles don't even exist.
The newspaper were on his ass as well as numerous fans and it did quell the media and fans for awhile. And yes at the time (looking for anything bright) I was one of the fans who thought it a good trade. Looking at it now (loss of a draft choice and possibly Harvin) makes it a bad move.
You were both making up the same stories. How did you know Idzik's motives for signing Harvin. You made up because it was negative about him without knowing the facts. He might have signed Harvin to better the team and because he was suddenly available. Not to quell the fans. You and him were on the exact same page. And had the same goal. To fire a guy because you personally didn't like him,.
