Live long and prosper http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/27/arts/television/leonard-nimoy-spock-of-star-trek-dies-at-83.html
Its not often that a celebrity death makes me this sad... In retrospect, I am so glad this scene was made:
Sad fckn day.. Another icon from my era has passed on.. RIP Spock! He's gonna be one tough act to follow..
Hard to believe but most of the original bridge crew of the USS Enterprise are still with us. Zulu, Chekov, Uhura and Kirk all are alive and well and aging gracefully.
Sad to see him go. He of all the original cast members supported the franchise the best over the years, acting in and directing many related productions. The irony is he hated the Spock character initially, feeling typecast by the role. A big piece of Star Trek passed on when he did.
LN was in a fairly good Twilight Zone episode A Quality of Mercy with Dean Stockwell and Albert Salmi..RIP Spock...
Just read where Shatner won't be at the funeral. I had always heard that the two of them basically didn't care for each other. I guess the rumors were true.
I came across this story from an unusual news source- http://www.irishexaminer.com/examvi...ant-attend-leonard-nimoys-funeral-315348.html I may be too cynical but I got a vibe that Shatner's first comments were trying to make it about him, not Nimoy. "The Story" is Leonard's death, Bill... not your whereabouts.
GalaxyQuest handles the Shatner/Nimoy interactions pretty well albeit a bit kindly to Shatner and bit harsh to Nimoy.
