not a huge "I told ya so" moment but for those who thought Harris was washed up and would be thrilled to return here for peanuts, "I told ya so"

David Harris has spent his entire time as a professional football player with the New York Jets since being drafted in 2007.

But after eight years with the Jets, Harris looks like he is set to wear a colour other than green for the first time in his NFL career.

The linebacker will more than likely hit free agency next month and reports are saying that there are multiple teams circling around Harris with a view to making an offer for his services.

Mike Wallace to leave Miami Dolphins in 1

    Dolphins Interest
While teams like the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears have all been linked to Harris already, it’s the Miami Dolphins who are emerging as the most recent, and strongest, contenders for Harris’ services.

According to a report from the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are making a starting linebacker one of their top priorities and Harris is the man at the top of their list of targets at this stage.

Show some respect for one of the better tacklers we've had in our history. I bet you weren't saying this when he picked Brady off in that playoff game.

Fans amaze me the way they turn so fast on players and coaches.

I still can't believe he got caught from behind by Crumpler but that play changed everything even though it was early.

he got caught from behind from a giant TE because he was slow then. He half as fast now. I have to show him respect? wtf? He don't owe me anything and I don't owe him anything. we're going to properly rebuild ( hopefully) and he is not needed

it amazes me how many hard-ons you have for mediocre players dude.....do you dislike any Jet ever? You must be shocked every year when we don't win the Superbowl since you think every coach and every player we've ever had is good.

I guess since he's not Patrick Willis or Bobby Wagner that he's not good enough. I was shocked he got caught too, but the interception itself - it felt like we hit them in the mouth pretty hard - I felt we were going to win that game, we came ready to play.

He's one of the better linebackers we've had. He's no pile jumper, makes plays. I think he's still needed on this team for at least another year - unless we get an ILB in this draft, we will have a huge hole on defense. Sure he isn't a 3 down linebacker anymore but I think he's effective.

I don't know why you would call him out the way ya did.

if you think hes needed for one more year, then hes really not needed since we are juuuuust a little bit further away than one year from contending ....why pay him?

We have no adequate replacement at this time, ILBs are very hard to find especially ones that can actually tackle and help stop the run. I think a 1 or 2 yr deal until we get a new ILB and from there we can ease in the transition would be nice.

I have an appreciation for what the players and coaches do especially when they have helped my team succeed. Just b/c a guy may be leaving doesn't mean I need to bash him, I think that is pathetic.

a lot of ILBs could look good and make a tackle with our defensive front----if Harris is looking for a nice pay day, and who wouldn't be, it makes ZERO sense for us to give it to him for a year ( or 2 as you say)

Hes not hearing me bash him, nor does he care what jonnyd says about him...if he wants a nice payday and go to a team that might be closer to winning than us, who gives a fuck ? let him go. There is no chance that David Harris will be a Jet the next time we are very good, so why on earth should we pay him? Because you have some illogical soft spot in your heart for him??? come one dude, I know you know your shit so stop with this Pollyanna bullshit, please

Who will you replace David Harris with? You can't just plug in some joe and expect the same productivity. Also, it's not about the defensive line, it's about making tackles [no missing them like an AJ Hawk] and taking the proper angles to stop opponents.

When David Harris is out there, I have confidence the majority of the RBs won't get past the 2nd level. If he wants too much $$$ he can leave, but I would like to keep him here until we have a replacement. Not just any replacement.

saying you want to move on for valid reasons is one thing but why bash a guy that has done nothing but help the team we root for? I don't get it? you are like those wacko's on twitter that just bash people. I feel bad for you.

Harris' inability to cover even me, outweighs his ability to tackle in today's NFL. The formula to beat the Jets is blatantly obvious due to our lack of coverage LBs and secondary

You have no idea how much he wants to get paid. So you want to let Harris go w/out a replacement? Doesn't sound like a smart move to me.
