I would love Revis back, best player we have ever had at any position. It would be nice to have a drafted Jets HOFer that also spent most of his career here. the only other drafted Jet that spent most of his career here to make the hall was Namath.
I feel similarly about him, but the timing isn't right. Maybe if the ship gets righted... down the road.
He took the money and ran. I would take him back in a second though. I understand fans not wanting him. But is holding a grudge more important than improving the football team? Bringing him back would also hurt NE, despite how good Belicheat is as a coach. Anyway, until he is released by NE, none of the arguments for or against really matter.
So did I and I think it would have been a major victory to get him back at 12mil after drafting a player like Sheldon with the pick we got but apparently the previous GM didn't even bother talking to him. Guys are acting like ex girlfriends instead of understanding that he is one of the best corners ever to play and understanding how he could elevate the team.
I don't think it will happen. If the Jets want Revis and they meet, they would most likely have to offer 12M per. Go after Cro after that would be too much money tied up at CB. We still have Milliner, Williams and McDougle who we have yet to see play. Also could always draft a corner like Peters, Johnson, Carter, Darby, etc.
Enough with Revis. Is he a great corner? no question. Is he worth 12M-16M to a team still searching for an offense, a no shit pass rush, and a QB above all....hell no. Cromartie can help our young secondary grow at a third of that price, then add more corner help via draft and free agency . We can get 2 solid vets in critical positions with the money Revis wants. Revis was a great Jet, a future HOF playing on a team with too many holes. We could not afford him then nor we can smartly afford him now. I'm amazed as to how people are reluctant to throw serious money for a top OLB, WR, OL, or god forbid QB, but they go gaga over getting Revis back. This is not about revenge, or hating Revis....its about doing the right thing for this team, with much bigger needs than Revis.
Should Revis become available, he'd be my number 1 priority. that said, i don't think the Pats will let him get away. too much dead money by him walking, and he's had too much impact on their overall D. should he hit the market tho, i expect Cags will be inquiring.
what medical issues other then his last year in ny? and what is a force safety and who on the cardinals was one? Buchanan?
Revis is a patriot now. Getting a ring with them solidified it. He's dead to me. I'll keep the little shred of pride I have left and go with the guy who actually wants to be here.
His knee will always be an issues. That is medical. As far as your stupid sentence, it's "a force at safety" and we don't have one. But we do need one, and the crap on our roster doesn't suffice.
My desire for Revis on the team depends entirely on who gets re-signed by their own team. I think I'd rather try and pick up Kareem Jackson or Byron Maxwell combined with Cro, but if both of those guys are gone and Revis is available I'd try and sign him.
you said he needs a force at safety to be good when he was here we didn't have any elite safeties and he was pretty good until that last season he was injured and Arizona doesn't have anything special at safety either
frankly put I don't think Revis wants to come back here after he just won a ring. I actually fully expect him to sign a large, but not team killing deal to stay in New England.
