Agreed. Regardless of who is starting next year, a QB needs to be picked up in FA anyway. If he proves to be better than Geno, than there is nothing wrong with that. Plus this way if we do draft Mariota, he can be our third string guy for the first year while he adjusts.
There's no mystery here, he had QB issues when they drafted him. One of Idzik's bad gut feel picks. Geno can't be coached up into a starter, everyone is just being polite, dump him.
NONE of those guys are better than Geno and they all have significantly less ability on all levels than Geno. I am all for a new better QB, but none of those stiffs are the answer.
There is no one available better. This is short term. And all three have a better chance to be successful than Geno who if he's the backup will get a chance to play.
You spend enough time around here, you have to conclude that the posters here have an inordinately high percentage of football fans who admire shitty Quarterbacks. I don't know if it's a lack of perspective or what. But there's definitely something going on.

Have to get one of the two QBs, but assuming we also bring in a stop gap and Geno beats him out you kind of have to play him. I don't think he'd beat out Hoyer or Moore or King or Mallet but still, if he did you'd have to play him or we'd be hypocrites. _

Moore s better than geno.. Dolphins gave him a ton of money (8 mill/2 year)to stay and be a back up. It seems like he resigned himself to that and if the Dolphins make him another strong offer, he will stay there.

I really don't understand the fascination with Matt Moore. under .500 as a starter, below 60% completion percentage, nearly as many INTs as TDs, 23 fumbles in 25 starts, couldn't beat out very pedestrian QBs in Carolina and Miami, yet he's going to come in here and look a lot better than Geno Smith with this offense? He has practically the same problems with turnovers, is older and much smaller of a ceiling. Maybe he's better than Smith in the present but if* he is, it's not by very much.
Most of these guys are better than smith, it's more of an indictment on smiths play thus far than the talent available.
It's not really a fascination as it were. We'd just like to see another professional QB compete to see who best to hold the fort until our franchise QB miraculously shows up. I don't love Matt Moore or Fitzy or King or any of them including Geno. Mallet maybe? We're just looking for options so if Geno throws up another 0.0 we have someone to hold the fort. Kind of like what Vick was supposed to be. But wasn't. _
