    @OmarKelly
    "His touch and accuracy is kind of scary at times," Mike Mayock says complimenting FSU QB Jameis Winston. Man he can spin it.

    @BuckyBrooks
    It's been interesting watching @Jaboowins throw in drills on the side. Using crossover steps on throws to right; backpedal on throws to left

    Made one bad throw:

    @RickStroud
    QB Jameis Winston completed 16-of-16 but had one throw inside and late on 12-yard out.

    @BillJones
    According to Rich Eisen, Steve Mariucci says Jameis Winston is "most astute x's & o's guy he's ever put on the board" at combine.

    I don't think we disagree on the big picture, just the "Winston blew him away" comment.

    Winston showed superior ball placement skills. I agree both have good arms, though Winston's is stronger. One thing I wish the combine did was show how QBs throw on the run left and right.

    I don't know, man. They're 15min interviews. Riddick reported that Mariota absolutely killed his interviews. I read that Hundley's interviews went very well. I'm not surprised about Winston's interviews either, I knew he was gonna do well, very bright kid. Should one be available, as long as we don't EFF up and pass on one of them, i'm good.

    Mayock said it himself.

    I don't care which has a stronger arm, they both have NFL quality arms. A rocket for an arm has never been high up on my requirements for a QB, only an arm that can make all the throws, which they both have.

    My entry into this conversation was calling out Falco for his ridiculous claim.

    Ball placement against what? Air? Since there were no defenders, the only ball placement that mattered was based on where the drill operators wanted the QBs to place the ball depending on the drill. Under those criteria Mariota did the better job. They did not want the QBs to underthrow deep passes, place outs on the inside shoulder or slants low; Jameis did all those things Jameis and Mariota stuck to the letter of the law.

    Just so I make sure I look out for the correct quote when I re-watch today's airing of the combine, Mayock and "they all" said that "Winston showed superior ball placement skills" in comparison to Mariota today?

    Yeah, I put arm strength into the stock. I think they can both make all the throws I agree, tho I think Winston can make throws in tighter windows more consistently

    the out routes specifically, if you go back and watch the tape. Winston has the timing aspect down packed.

    I'm not discrediting Winston to pump up Mariota, that's more your speed. I thought they both were slinging it out there. The superior ball placement against air somehow escaped me.

    I agree there should be a passing on the run drill.

    Winston's accuracy was on par with Mariota's today but in games I feel Mariota's was much better.

    We've got 0 chance at Winston, he's ridiculous and he's going number 1. I hope no one leap frogs us and Mariota falls to 6. Who knows when the next time we'll be in position for a QB is.

    Mariota has an insane ability to throw on the run and his mechanics are flawless when he's doing it. I think it's the one area where he outshines Jameis

    Mariota prob one of the better throwers on the run I've seen in some time.

    I agree!

    When looking at his production he kept defences at a standstill at times because they didn't know what he was going to do.. Pass from the pocket, run it or pass on the run. I think having that doubt in a defences mind is a big advantage ala Russell Wilson.

    I'd vote for taking Mariota over Winston but hear is what Bruce Arians has to say about selecting a Qb whose played in a spread type of offense in college: A wide 'spread' of opinions: Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians wasn't shy about expressing his opinion on quarterback prospects from spread systems in college. Said Arians: "That ain't playing quarterback." Mayock agreed, saying, "It's a huge transition [to the NFL]. I try to give the analogy, you're talking about taking a kid that's in kindergarten and moving him to a college-level class almost overnight." True, but if you eliminated all the spread quarterbacks, there wouldn't be many names left on your draft board.
