The Titans didn't take a QB in the top 10 last year, they took a QB in the 6th round. They could absolutely take a QB. But I doubt they will. Mettenberger has some potential and they've got a dire need to upgrade their defensive front. Maybe if Winston is on the board - which means Tampa has already taken MM.

The Raiders are a candidate to trade down to the Rams with MM on the board as well, assuming Williams is off the board and they have White/Cooper in a dead heat for their #1 receiver - since they could still likely get one or the other, receiver-wise, at 10.

And yes, the Skins are the wildcard. Trading down would not surprise me if the Browns come calling with 2 first-rounders.

This draft is very interesting. Both positions that are probably the biggest needs for the Jets are areas of relative strength, with two potential elite candidates.

QB - Personally, I like Mariota way more than Winston. There are some serious character questions with Winston, but he threw way too many interceptions last year and I am way more concerned about that. Mariota will need lots of coaching. His receivers in the NFL will not be nearly as open as they were with Oregon. But apart from the amount of coaching that will be necessary, Mariota has the intangibles that I want in a franchise qb. If Mariota is on the board, we have to take him!

WR - Tennessee will be making a huge mistake if they do not take Mariota. I think they will pick him and not look back. If Mariota is gone, we have to look at WR. A lot of stuff is coming out this week about Kevin White and for good reason. The guy can flat out play and reminds me a lot of Dez Bryant. He's the complete package. Amari Cooper is the clear #1, but I would not be disappointed at all with White.

With the type of strength at these two positions, I would be very disappointed if we went with a pass rusher. The pass rushers this year are impressive, but the type of talent that are at QB and WR are way too good to pass up and the talent decreases significantly after both of the above positions.

Let's not act like it's not an issue. It appears to me this part, he has NEVER worked on prior to last month. I mean never.

It's NOT. Per his Combine measurements, Mariota has close to 10 inch hands so taking snaps under center should NOT be a concern. Per Mike Mayock, myself and many others, Mariota has GREAT feet so 3-7 step drops will NOT take long to learn. In fact he has already flashed the ability to do drops within the structure of the Ducks' offense. The following is a quote from Louis Riddick, former Philadelphia Eagles personnel director and current ESPN NFL analyst:

Furthermore, there is plenty of tape of him taking text book hitches to step up in the pocket and avoid edge pressure. Given what we seen from Mariota, questioning his ability to master taking snaps under center and perform 3-7 step drops is the equivalent of doubting a 7'3" NBA prospect with a 7'7" wingspan and 40 inch vertical can dunk a basketball. It's really NOT worth the brain cells' capacity that's being exhausted.

Conversely, I can see how Mariota's shy, understated and quiet nature as well as his lack of experience can raise legitimate concerns about his ability to command a huddle.

10 inch hands have nothing to do with footwork under center. When did Mayock say this? At the end of the day, it is a big deal, let's not brush that to the side because that's one of the reasons why he won't start his rookie yr.

There is no tape of him performing the basic fundamentals of the 3, 5 and 7 step drop under center. If so, I would love to see it. I think you are aware of how big fundamentals are to me, I need to see those fundamentals in action. I can't wait to see him throw this afternoon, very excited. It will give fans a better idea of how far he has come.

10 inch hands certainly helps with taking SNAPS from under center if you do not have a lot of experience under center. If a guy has small hands and has limited experience with taking SNAPS from center, you should worry about fumbled snaps. HAVING GREAT FEET along with practice has EVERYTHING to do with being proficient with your footwork from under center. Mariota has "GREAT FEET" and great practice habits.

EDIT: I GUARANTEE that taking snaps from center will NOT be "...one of the reasons why he won't start his rookie yr".

Chip Kelly is going to move heaven and earth to get his hands on Mariota. He's going to trade for the 2 pick.

The Eagles aren't going to trade up eighteen spots for Mariota, and if Jefffie Lurie allows Chip to do that, he's an idiot.

Does anyone really think the Eagles will trade three first round picks for Mariota? Because, That's what it's going to take...

taking snaps, mastering your 3 5 7 step drop and planting that foot all of that is what I mean in regards to foot work.

Hope you are watching Winston right now, look at how he drops back, quick, plants his feet - it's all natural right now.

Mariota's footwork has been outstanding today as well... he has worked on this for a while.

Winston's been fantastic as well, I just hope we can draft one of the two. They're going to be special Quarater backs IMO.

I hope he has worked on this for a while lol ... I agree, absolutely looks improved. At times, it looks awkward but improved no doubt about it. Accuracy is there right now.

Notice how 101 completely omitted that fact as if Winston was the top rank QB displaying great footwork. Conversely some of the other Spread QBs Nick Marshall and Bryce Petty did NOT display the same great footwork because it's the individual NOT the system.
